"Learning how to simulate playing a cello - that was to me, scary. When I read the script, I asked myself how I was going to do that. ... With me, I never did get the hang of the cello. But there it is, they film it and they put it together so it looks OK."

"This cello. This cello was in your Daddy's lap when he was shot down over Hanoi. He was captured and put in a Vietnamese prison camp. He knew if the gooks ever saw the cello that it'd be confiscated; taken away. The way your Dad looked at it, this cello was your birthright. He'd be damned if any slopes were gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something. His ass. Five long years, he wore this cello up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the cello. I hid this uncomfortable hunk of wood up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the cello to you."

He's a great actor, and instead of people just watching Walken for being Walken, people should really check him out in "The Deer Hunter". He did an awesome job in that movie.

I just watched '7 psychopaths' last night, he did a pretty good job, but nothing like 'true romance.'

I would've sworn we still had the Walken tag, so I would like to apologize to smartmitter. My brain has been cooked by a fever and the only cure is to share my cowbell.

He was amazing in Annie Hall, too. He was a great actor. Now he's just a damn caricature.

/He and James Woods took a bad turn somewhere along the way. Pacino, too.

It already is, subby. He's been in the news for a famous incident in 1981: Christopher Walken was the last person to see Natalie Wood alive ... and the coroner just reopened the case as declared the cause of death ""drowning and other undetermined factors." (changed from "accidental drowning"). The autopsy report revealed that Wood had bruises on her body and arms as well as an abrasion on her left cheek. The boat's captain reported hearing an argument that evening, but Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken claimed they were the ones arguing.

It's happened, Kevin Pollak now sounds more like Christopher Walken than Walken does.

The Shroud of Turin one looks lame; the quartet one might be good, given the cast, but given that it's an "Oscar bait" film being released in the dumping season, I don't have much hope.

/Walken's cool, though.

I love how he dials in the same performance every film...
another great one note actor like Nicholson... Ol' Chris should stick to cameos.
He needs another Oscar..the "being yourself on film lifetime achievement award"

/loved him in Pennies from Heaven...
//what kinda wood doesn't float?

A potentially good movie which has Christopher Walken playing a skid row clone of Jesus is ruined by having Christian Slater playing a skid row version of Christopher Walken.

I thought the article was going to talk about a potential arrest for the murder of Natalie Wood.

He was also great in Click with Adam Sandler. Or maybe I'm thinking of The Deer Hunter with Robert De Niro. Anyway, one of those is a great movie in which Walken was great.
