Lucky kid.  AFAIK, Elton & David are sober and responsible, loving parents. And filthy rich. Not a bad start to life, really.

you have pee hands: Elton John is 65.

And his husband is 50, both a little on the old side for a new kid, I know money helps a lot and all indications are that they will give their child a loving home, but there is an age where adding a child to the family is not a good idea.

Pics that were posted on them and their first kid on vacation are really nice. I'm sure Elton is as
maternal as any drama queen. Seriously, the kids are probably going to be ok. Daddies are very well
off, they will have all of the best education and anything they ever need. Most likely they will be in charge
of their fathers empire of music, film, theater and image usage after he passes. Which I hope will be
a good long while, as it will be a huge loss of a very talented person when he goes.

On the up-side, Elton's mother is still very much alive (she in her 90s), which gives him a better than average chance of living another thirty years.

Agreed, up to a point.  For most babies, It's usually optimal if the parents are in their 20s or early 30s, because they still have the energy to run after the kids, and also have the job skills to support the kid. But Elton didn't have the option, I think, of coming out 40 years ago.  Being gay just wasn't accepted.

Elton sobered up and stoned up; he raises tons of money for gay charities as what I assume is an act of contrition for his delayed coming out; and I am fairly sure that the kids will be taken care of.  I don't just mean with trust funds. I think he had a deep desire to have children and he will do everything to protect them should he die before they are grown-ups. Good luck, Elton and David.

It's none of my business and I don't care if they're sword fighters but having a kid at 65? An adoption agency wouldn't allow that with a hetero couple. Not in America anyway. Anyway, it's not of my business if the kid's parent's are dead by the time be graduates high school, that's his psychosis.

I've always thought it would be an outright tragedy if Elton never bred. I mean, musical genius like that has to be passed on. So, maybe he did.

Insert but-they-have-loadsa-money-so-our-taxpaying-dollars-won't-go-to-them argument here. It was boring enough when Paul McCartney fathered a child with Madame Crazywoman.

They clearly care a lot about their family and are stable, sane people in a deeply committed relationship, with a family history of longevity and enough money to be sure the children are well-cared for. I would let a kid of mine play with a kid of theirs.

Also, did anyone else see 'Gnomeo & Juliet'? It was adorable and so much better than a lot of the schlock my little nieces like. Elton John and David Furnish raising a family seems to mean kids' movies get a better soundtrack and more classical influences. I can go for that.
