I think it is unfair to use this foreign incident to attack the GOP.  Just because politicians in the GOP have said similar things recently (without being universally condemned by their own party), it is still unfair...somehow.

"Consideration needs to be taken thoroughly for the imposition of death penalty for a rapist because in a rape case both the rapist and the victim enjoy it."

I'm sure he'd be willing to volunteer to prove this in a scientific test. While we're at it, we'll finally get around to letting Sean Hannity show us how waterboarding is not torture.

He also said he'd meant it as a joke, so extra points there for impugning the public's sense of humor in order to deflect responsibility.

You know, if those biatches would just agree to get circumcised, no one would accuse them of enjoying rape. What's up with sluts wanting to have their muffin and eat it too?

If they didn't enjoy it, then they would have said right off the bat "I didn't enjoy it." Of course, if a rape victim just starts talking about how they didn't like it, well, maybe she doth protest too much. It's so simple if you really understand it.

Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sibelius not good enough for you? How about Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis?

When Fox News was railing on Obama for lack of diversity in his administration, at first I was thinking "man, those guys will latch on to anything, no matter how far of a stretch it is, to try to attack the President", but then I realized this also means that progressives have effectively won the culture war. If conservatives have to bend their own principles to the point that they no longer recognize themselves or what they stand for in order to find fault with Obama, that's fine with me. By all means, lose focus.
