Why not allow visits from the roach coach while you're at it?

Vin Scully will tell us a nice story while there's a break in the action.......after a word from Farmer John.....

Teams will be permitted to have a seventh coach in uniform, in the dugout, during games.

Sweet.  Does this mean Manny Mota will be allowed back in the Dodgers' dugout?

The fake-to-third, throw-to-first pickoff move now would be considered a balk.

This should've been done years ago.  It's not like it's ever worked anyway.

But I always laugh whenever a visiting pitcher does this move and the home fans erupt in a chorus of boos, wanting a balk call, as if the umpire had just missed it or forgotten what a balk was. Now all of a sudden they'll be right. What fun is that?

I can't stand booing in general, but when the Miller Park morons boo when the visiting pitcher throws over to first, I just cringe. It's part of the game you idiots, stop booing, it just makes you look dumb.

//Brewers fan, moron, hate booing, I did boo Barry Bonds once and I regret it.

I really don't understand the problem with the fake to third, throw to first... The pitcher takes his foot off the rubber, right? So can't he do whatever he damn well pleases? Or is he NOT talking his foot off when he fakes to third, then DOES take it off when he spins around to throw to first?

/former catcher
//i love the catcher pick-off throw to first

It'll also help when Charlie Manuel comes out to the mound to replace a pitcher.

This happened to my son when he played high school jv baseball. He's now a stud outfielder on the varsity but I have milked his getting picked off on the old "3rd to 1st move" to the max.
Whenever I think his head is getting too big, I remind him of his blunder. It still settles him down every time.
