She's not related to John Ritter.

"Happy Endings" is a seriously underrated sitcom -- great writing, a unique mix of plausible and surreal plots pulled off very well by an excellent cast.
"Don't Trust the B" has highs and lows but Krysten Ritter is fantastic in the role (as well as screamingly hot) and, I never, ever thought I'd say this, James Van Der Beek is a friggin' riot. He kills in every scene.

It was disappointing to see ABC burning off out-of-sequence episodes in such an odd timeslot. Hopefully the shows can maintain enough of an audience to survive another season.

TheManofPA: They barely announced it on tv. I only caught the Sunday airings because of the dvr.

You've been Mindforked

This is true. I was surprised to see 2 episodes of each this morning when I checked my DVR. I did not know they were being run on Sundays.

Good job ABC, waste new episodes of still-building shows on Sunday nights. Then, don't tell anybody.

While I cannot fault a network for trying to make money, the fly-like attention span of said network execs is a joke. Cheers was the lowest rated show on TV its first year, and yet it was on the air for how long, 11 years? Sienfeld was a summer, 6 episode, first 'season' and was pretty lowly rated as well, yet it ran for 9 years. Now, if a show has bad rating after 2-3 episodes it is removed from the schedule. There is no accounting for competition on a night, or given a chance to find an audience in an evolving tv viewing market. "Last Resort" is a perfect example. It was up against a highly rated show in BBT yet managed to improve the numbers from the show ABC had in the same slot last year. It also had a pretty good online/DVR following. Once the network execs understand that with itunes/ondemand/dvr options around, watching a TV show is not appointment viewing anymore. I watch shows on my time, not theirs.

Lsherm: NeedlesslyCanadian: Aw.  I don't watch either of those shows, but I really like Krysten Ritter. Hate seeing that her stuff's failed.

I hadn't seen her before she showed up on Breaking Bad.  Then I spent a weekend trying to find out if she had done any nude scenes.  Why?  'Cause that's what guys do.

Supposedly she is in the running for the lead in 50 Shades of Gray, which could yield a bounty of nude scenes. The downside would of course be having to watch a 50 Shades movie.

megalynn44: Yeah they did nothing to promote the extra episodes on Sunday. I too only knew about it because of DVR. Plus they're going our of order. Penny ended the Sunday show with a new romance w one dude, & started Tuesday's with an established romance w another dude. Thanks a lot ABC.

/I too desperately wanted a hip hop Santa after the Xmas episode

It's been even worse for Apt 23, since they seem to be mixing in unaired season 1 episodes with new episodes, which is confusing because June is going back and forth between being employed in her new Wall Street job and the coffee shop.

Both are hilarious. Happy Endings is my #1 seed right now.
