Styx fans were alway the most confusing elder-thugs in Jr. High School.

Really, you want to beat me up because I have a penchant for musical theater?  Dude, even though I think your band is a horrible representation of the same genre, we're on the SAME FARKING TEAM.

After you are done shoving me in a locker, do you want to come over and hear my Cole Porter collection?

I can appreciate the work of homosexuals without subsisting on a steady diet of schlong, and if I did, what's that to a dude in a permed mullet?

Some radio DJ should play "Too Much Time On My Hands" and when it ends and the weird keyboard part cascades down, instantly put on "Play the Game" by Queen, which has a very similar cascading keyboard to open that song.  See if they match up.

/just sayin'

I went to high school with Dennis DeYoung's daughter and he directed a couple of the school plays. I'd tell you all about how awful they were, but seriously, who goes to see school plays besides the parents of the kids in it?

Say what you want to about Styx; I'll probably agree with you. But he speaks the truth here. Iggy Pop songs pimp out shiatty cruise lines but you can't hear a Styx song in any commercial.

Can I take "Cold War" out and resubmit? I know letting Tommy sing one now and then occasionally led to greatness, but not that track...

Shadow Blasko: I know letting Tommy sing one now and then occasionally led to greatness

CSB:

I went to the same junior high and high school as Tommy Shaw, some years after he left. One of his school friends babysat me and my sister when I was about 12 or 13, and we met Tommy at the pool when he dropped by to visit. He had to show me his drivers license before I would believe him.

I used to see Tommy Shaw at industry events once or twice a year (e.g. NAMM). Fame did not go to his head. He is a very genuine and friendly guy. Even though I only saw him on occasion, he always remembered my name (I worked for Sony). That tripped me out. My own mother barely remembered my name.

at first I thought you were talking about the beginning to Too Much Time, but then I listened to the end and all the alarm bells.. yeah, very close indeed.. and no coincidence.. they both use the same synth.. Oberheim OB-X I believe it was.. but that would be a good thing to try.. :)
