Since we're here, I'll admit it:

When Archer and Pam finally start screwing, she tells him "this time, get in there. All you've been doing is giving one side hell."

I have to confess: I have no idea what she means by this. Any help?

Not witty enough for you, Robbie Trolltrane?

You see, Robbie Coltrane was an English humorist, famous for his witty repartee and... ah, nevermind.

Man I love that show. GF bought me the "How to Archer" book, which was great, thought short. The chapter on Stellar Navigation was pure brilliant.

GF was totally not getting the show at first, so I took her to see Aisha Tyler back when Vernon Hill had a Zanes, now she's hooked

It isn't called "bell curve", that booty is called (puts on sunglasses) frequently.

I watched an episode of this about a year ago, and gave up after about ten minutes, because it was just stupid and had terrible animation.

Then a month or so ago, having heard people continue to rave about it, I gave it another shot from the beginning, and by about three episodes in was hooked--watched the whole three series in a couple of days, and now Mrs. PCoC wonders why my new favorite expletive is "Holy shiatsnacks!"

Without question, Archer is the funniest show on television right now (though Louis gives it a run for its money). I have no idea how I could have been so wrong about that initial test episode.

Could have just been the episode, if it was one of the ones that self-references a lot, that'd put anyone off. Not being in on the joke is no fun.

You and me have like minds man. I watched through the entire first season and didn't really give it much thought. It wasn't bad, but it felt like every other raunchy random cartoon out there. Then a few months later, I was bored with nothing to watch, I tried it again and fell in love with it. It's actually a lot smarter than people give it credit for (a Guglielmo Marconi reference?!?).

If it was from season 2, then there's your answer. Season 2 was utterly awful.

Don't have an opinion on a show for which I have only seen commericals but

'Vincent van Go-fark-myself'

'Who are you? Horace Greely?'

and one I forgot were damned funny.

The concern comes from 2 minutes of funny from a show that's been on for three seasons.

"Archer" isn't funny. It tries too hard. And no, I'm not trolling.

Sounds like me and "The Office", except I just assume anyone raving about it is full-on, pants on head, potato-counting retarded.

Really? That was just one single-liner from several episodes (not even every insult throughout the show). I assure you, those were not the only jokes in the history of the show.

Archer: Why do we have so many damn dolls in here?
Pam: For sexual harassment complaints so people can non-verbally indicate where stuff happened on their bodies.
Archer: That takes like one doll.
Pam: Not if there's ever a gang rape.

Nothing beats the meta-humor of having Brock being Archer's father.

There really is a wealth of reference and carry overs (or just plain laziness) from Sealab and Frisky Dingo.

Yeah, well, maybe think it about a little longer next time...uh...Mr. Quickdraw...McDouche. No, wait, that wasn't very good. Dammit! Hang on, I'll think of a better one. (Takes a sip of Scotch.)

The Cartoon Network or whatever channel I initially saw it on made horrible commercials for it, so when it first aired I gave it 30 seconds before I turned it off. After the rave reviews on the net, I tried it again and was hooked after the second episode. The mixture of both intelligent humor as well as the easy sight gags keep it interesting even when they are re-using jokes.

"poorly animated" or wahtever some dude said above?  what?  the animation is awesome.  so crisp but retro.

love the show.  the mom is kinda GILFy.  and Aisha Tyler is hot as shiat.

i got into the show from her (Aisha) beingon Jay Mohr about a year ago.  Never heard of  her or the show, looked it up, was hooked from the first minute.

Based on your post I am right: 2 minutes of funny from three seasons of shows.

Really? A 'gang rape' "joke"?
I bet you like Conan, too.
