Meh, they have an OC at the QB position. I just hope they can hang on to Del Rio

Meh. The Chargers missed their window and are closing in on "blow it up and start over" territory anyways. I'd be more worried about KC if they find a quarterback.

They will. One year as the DC after nine pretty forgettable years as the HC in Jacksonville won't be enough to get Del Rio another HC job, at least for now. If the Bronco defense is as good or better next year, then we start worrying.

Flynn really doesn't scare me. He had one admittedly great game within a great offense against Detroilet. You can't play them every week.

Though you still get Oakland and San Diego 4x a year. So it might work out...

That game was also a travesty in terms of officiating. With GB's OL apparently not getting penalized for holding, any decent QB could have a huge game with those receivers.

They have a good start on their defense, and Rivers isn't that old. If they get an offensive line again they could be pretty decent.

Yeah.  They only need to replace 4 (if not 5) guys on the OL, replace both DB's, find a starting Safety, eat Gaither's contract, and deal with the 2 overpriced receivers they signed in free agency that did next to nothing all year.

It looks like the Peyton Manning effect continues on ... pretty much any coach that Manning plays for in the NFL moves on pretty quickly.

/unfortunately, the teams don't realize the coach seems great because Manning is his QB and not much else

Erm...Manning had the same offensive coordinator for 11 years in Tom Moore. Clyde Christensen is still with the Colts, albeit as the QB coach not the OC, but he was only the OC when Manning missed the season in 2011. He was the junior OC in 2010. If Arians had left, he probably would have gotten the nod. He called the played when Arians missed the Ravens game. Despite the result of that game, he actually called a pretty good game.

Manning has really only had two OCs in his career, and one left to be a HC.

As long as they keep John Fox away from any sort of playcalling or offensive strategy, they'll be fine.

His playcalling is so conservative, Fox News wouldn't give him a show.

Except for the time he forgot he had two Pro Bowl running backs on his roster and asked his poor man's gunslinger to win a playoff game on the strength of his passing.

Brady is worse. McDaniels, Weiss, Pioli, Crennel (different side of the ball, but he carried the entire team)... Bill O'Brian looks solid at Penn State so far, though, and Atlanta's GM is the exception in that he's done the polar opposite of the Patriot Way since arriving in Atlanta.

well bad teams find ways to lose, maybe the broncos were overrated on both sides of the ball?

There was an article a year or so ago that showed that Ray Lewis was the biggest King Maker in the NFL.

They went 7-9 with Norv, and a few of those losses were close enough they could have been wins. They need to fix a few things, but it's not a full rebuild.

I don't think the personnel as a whole are overrated. I think it's time to start looking for Champ Bailey's replacement; he's not the player he was five years ago. Porter and Carter might be good, but there's no telling when they're so badly coached.

/Remember, the 49ers defensive roster was largely intact under Mike Singletary.

It's not like they're going to play Torrey Smith every week. That's either just some busted plays on the part of the players (every players going to have a couple every game), or poor self-scouting on the part of the Bronco's coaches. And honestly, the one where Torrey Smith pulled up on his route to make the catch was just spectacular. He gets paid too, he's allowed to make fantastic plays. Given the coverage, it was risky for Flacco to throw it, Smith just made a great play.
