Maybe his owners need to get him some protection...

I'd love to get a Chihuahua simply because they are affectionate little lap rats and can be fabulous dogs if you actually take time out to train them. My only concern is that if I do adopt one the Goat Puppy is going to tear it to shreds as soon as we bring it home. Seriously. She's little but she can f*ck up anything smaller than 10 lbs and will gut a squirrel in seconds.

Veterinarians say Clifford is doing as well as can be expected for a three-month-old that plummeted at least 80 feet.

So, you're saying he's dead?

Poor pup is lucky. Chihuahuas are delicate little dogs, and that's a long fall for a puppy!

KatjaMouse, you could always consider adopting a chihuahua cross. My family recently took in a rat terrier/chihuahua mix -- a 12-year-old who, between one thing and another, needed to be rehomed -- and she's an absolute sweetheart. She single-pawedly changed my opinion on frou frou dogs. (No, seriously, I'm a cat person. But apparently I'm a small dog person, too. Go figure.) She's still a fine-boned little girl who needs doggie sweaters and coats when she goes out in colder weather, but I think she's probably a bit tougher than a purebred chihuahua. Cuter, too.

Then again, best to be cautious about crazy goat pups.
