Damn I wish there was a hockey team nearby.  I would totally snag up season tickets at that price.  I'd even pay more for better seats.

Id do that. Dont think Ill be going to any Caps games this season.

That's amazing. Though even if the Islanders did something like that I wouldn't get it since my commute is too long to make any weeknight game.

/not about to get Rangers season tickets either

In their defense, they did go to the playoffs last season so that's not a bad deal. They'll get a few takers, for sure.

Even with round trip airfair thrown in that would still be cheaper than Leafs games for most Torontonians.

Maybe its just me, but after realizing how far Sunrise is from everything Miami/beach related, I don't really get why people would want to go out there for a game.

\now if I were there and the B's were in town, I'd consider it...

Hockey in South Florida is a great idea that can't possibly fail and must be protected at all costs.

Yeah, it is a bit of a hike, but I'll be in Miami next week and I'm going to go up there to see the Panthers take on the Senators. I don't particularly care about either team, but HOCKEY!

Seattle has no team, Floriduh has two

I live about 30-50 minutes from sunrise (depending on the traffic). I might have to just hit up some games this year. we usually try and hit one (over christmas break) when we can find 5 buck tickets on stubhub. This is the only stadium that I have been to that doesn't charge for parking.

The Panthers have not charged for parking since the last lockout.

I would totally hit this up if I lived down there. Read earlier in the week about cheap season tickets for the Lightning, why the hell not? Too bad Minnesota and Chicago always fill their seats. Wouldn't mind going to more than one game a season.

NHL Center Ice will have to do - $59.96 for the shortened season.

There is actually a rather large population out by the arena, it's even next door to a really big mall.

I live an hour north from Sunrise and I still make it to a game at least once every two weeks. My friend has had the weekend season ticket package for a couple years now, so we head down quite a bit. His seats are pretty good:

I go every time the Bs are in town, but this season I'm debating on going to any game. If I do a little research and find out the Panthers owners weren't too keen on the lockout happening, I'll go. If not, next year the BB&T Center will see my shadow.

Upper deck baseline?

How about I pay you nothing and watch from home where I can actually see the puck?

a very sad +1 :(

Hmmm.. I can't tell if I'm a bad hockey fan if it took me 3 tries to figure out what city has a team called the Panthers.

"Carolina?" No, that's the football team.
"Nashville?" No, that's the Predators.
Umm.. Florida? Ahh, yes, that sounds right. They still have a team?

I love that they're comparing nose-bleed seats for the Panthers to club seats for the Leafs and lower bowl seats for the Rangers.

Still, super awesome deal.

More money to spend on beers, or whatever the hell they drink in Florida.

Consider it an expansion of the the New York market.

I got some crepes one time at a Panthers game...really quite tasty.

Oh, I am well aware of the existence of Sawgrass Mills.  Just saying that it's just weird that it and Phoenix seem to be the only two teams in any league that cater directly to the far suburban population.

Well they originally played at the old Miami Arena in downtown, and even back then it wasn't exactly in a neighborhood that attracted your typical hockey demographic.

Just like the new Marlins stadium, that arena would have been better suited to being built in south Palm Beach County. But an hour drive to watch hockey is closer for me than any of the other professional sports down here, so I don't really mind.

I had season tickets for a few years straight. They're not the best team, but it's a damn good time. The Bank Atlantic Center (is it the Bank Atlantic Center still?) is quite nice, and the tickets have always been affordable. At this price, it's a steal. If I lived further south, I'd buy season tickets again, especially since they're finally getting competitive again.

I think Seattle not having a team is less ridiculous than no team in Quebec and only one in Ontario.

Florida did well last year but there should not be any teams in Florida. I remember when the Lightning won the cup. The parade turn out was pathetic and it wasn't even the top story in the news there. They deserved so much better.

It sucks being in a town with a strong hockey fanbase. I'd love to see the Blackhawks try some crazy promotion like this.

I'll be giving the Caps money when the Canes are in town, at least once. But $50 for Gamecenter is nice, I'll probably spring for that.
