I_C_Weener: Nothing will live up to the hype.

What hype?

When people think of Star Wars, they don't exactly think quality storytelling. Remember literally everything but the original trilogy? And even some of that debatable?

And when people think of Disney live action, they don't exactly think 'quality' either. It's been pretty hit-or-miss basically forever.

wildstarr: Go revisit Jack's performance. You will wonder how you could possibly think his performance was great. I used to think so as well. But hey, we will all young and foolish once. Heath's rendition is the way Joker should be portrayed.

Dude, Nicholson has done better crazed villains when the role he was playing was supposed to be the hero and perfectly sane than Heath Ledger's mediocre talent and half-assed "I'll just cock my head at the camera repeatedly and do the stupid batman voice but more sibilant" routine could even imagine.

The character was great, sure, but it was entirely in the writing. The actual acting part of it was pretty meh.

Lucas did a pretty good job lowering the bar.

Leia the Hutt would have been amusing.

I_C_Weener: And Luke fighting with some new force weilding threat....he's gonna break a hip.

Like we've never seen an old wizard being a complete badass in recent movies:

www.ccs.neu.edu

After 30+ years of using the Force, he should be able to dole out powerful ass whupping on even a powerful opponent without having to do much in the way of physical combat.

Nah, they'll use CGI to have Luke flipping around in the air around his opponents.

I want a Sith-based movie with Darth Maul as the PROtagonist.

I want a bounty hunter movie, with a bunch of no names being awesome. Maybe a Fett cameo.

In a world with robotic suits and the force, anyone can be a bad ass. If Yoda can kick ass for the last 15minutes of the last movie and Vader is nothing but a suit I'm sure they can come up with something.

I_C_Weener: Sure, a cameo would be great   ruin the movie completely.

There. fixed that for rational humans. Cameos are what hollywood does when the movie sucks so bad on its own that ANYTHING would make it better. Cameos are TERRIBLE.

shudder
at least the lucas abortion machine wont be involved in making the movies.

I'm not sure how much they pay but it has to have added up to something by now.

StoPPeRmobile: Rhypskallion: CGI them to make them look young. Pick up the story right after ROJ. Forget all the books--they don't count. Give out 5 hour energy in the theaters so their fanbase won't fall asleep, and BOOM Disney sells tickets to everyones youth fantasy! Feel younger! See your favorites back in their prime!! Begin the "Mark Hamill never moved like Jet Li before" discussions.

/this might actually work......

Just make it pure CGI then.

Agreed.
Make SW the Disney equivalent of Avatar in terms of being a premier CGI experience.

I_C_Weener: Alright, I'm going to say it if none of you do.  Sure, a cameo would be great.  But if we get to see Indiana Jones and the Bad Back again, you are going to get some angry people.  Maybe they  CGI the crap out of it to make them look younger like in Tron 2.  But really, Han Solo being slower than a hutt when drawing his blaster?  Lando could chill with some sabacc cards and a drink and still look cool though.  And Luke fighting with some new force weilding threat....he's gonna break a hip.

Jedi's in Star Wars aren't supposed to be acrobatic ninjas. A bunch of guys managed to do incredibly thrilling light saber duels in a giant, stuffy suit with little freedom of movement; Alec Guinness did it at age 62; Yoda was a puppet.

I dare say old Luke would make a better and more interesting Jedi than wamprats-in-my-T16 Luke.

Han, on the other hand....I can't see a place for him at an older age.

It will have lots of teens who do wacky things, to get boys and girls to like them, and they will all break out in song, and the bad siths will get pies in their faces, and then the laugh track will go off and you can tweet your favorite characters, and then you can vote on line for which ever alternative ending you want to see and then they all break into song and then the girl gets the boy, and they almost kiss, but the siths come after them with pies the end roll credits, lots and lots of credits. Then an hour of commercials for upcoming Disney productions and how you can get much valued merchandise of all your favorite Disney shows.

I see that subby is under the impression that studios or someone in the know submits this stuff to IMDB.

They've had Indiana Jones 5 listed since 2008...

Han would be great as a Bill Clinton-esque figure who's just kicking back and loving early retirement while his wife still works full time as a powerful diplomat.

Well lando did exactly that in a recent episode of a popular abc sitcom. So he better be in the damn movie.

This thread made me check imdb to see if they every accepted my 'goof' from the movie 'Next'. (Main character enters the fictional Mystique Casino on Fremont Street. Lazy filmmakers didn't bother to cover up any of the signage, you can tell instantly it's the Golden Nugget from the logo plastered everywhere.) I'm happy to see it's on the page. Take THAT, crappy Nicolas Cage movie from 2007!

Now what's this Star Wars thing again?
