Nothing will live up to the hype.

Really?  Do we want to see Han make the Kessel Run with his left blinker on for 12 parsecs?  Luke use a lightsaber as cane or Leia using R2 as a Rascal Scooter?

You might as well add Peter Mayhew to that list.  I'm just sayin'.

Carrie Fisher has been losing weight so she can squeeze back into that gold bikini and fulfill your perverted fantasies.

Alright, I'm going to say it if none of you do.  Sure, a cameo would be great.  But if we get to see Indiana Jones and the Bad Back again, you are going to get some angry people.  Maybe they  CGI the crap out of it to make them look younger like in Tron 2.  But really, Han Solo being slower than a hutt when drawing his blaster?  Lando could chill with some sabacc cards and a drink and still look cool though.  And Luke fighting with some new force weilding threat....he's gonna break a hip.

Actually I can see this. Parents of the next generation-If you read the books that cover the post empire period you know theres a TON of possible content, and with some involvement by folks like this.

I especially would love to see more of Mark Hamill.

I recall an article from Fark saying that if she was able to loose a certain amount of weight. She and other ladies would dress in the Slave Leia outfit and show off.

Protip:

IMDb is a wholly unreliable resource for information for any project prior to release.

I was part of a discussion about this subject on another message board a couple of years ago. As an experiment and a way to show others that this was the case, a few of us logged on to IMDb and submitted a couple of casting notes & trivia entries on as yet unreleased movies.

Within a few days all but one of our submissions had been accepted and the bogus information was part of the pages.

Even after release there are still an awful lot of misleading or flat out wrong entries in the trivia & goofs sections.

IMO, I'd think the movies "action" parts would mostly be of the "new generation" (new characters, with possibly kids of Han/Leia and Luke and whomever he might hook up with)..... I don't read any SW novels or anything so maybe those are already in the "universe".   Any of the now old, old actors would be mostly in "Hi mom & dad" scenes, but, would be appreciated to be there none the less I'd think.

They should make some kind of internet database of movies that would help answer these sort of questions.

Maybe we get to watch him get blown up every movie instead of the badass R2D2. I wouldn't mind that at all.

Luke hooks up with some fiery hot red headed Sith Assassin chick.

They could easily have these folks in a new movie, just not as the leads. No one is going around complaining Obi Wan was too old for Episode 4, have them as elder statesmen of a type that get the ball rolling for some new adventures with new protagonists. And please don't make the protagonists plucky 14 year olds.

Yoda sort of had the opposite problem... old and stately in the OT, lithe and too-flippy in the PT. He goes from quadruple backflips across the Emperor's chamber to feebly clinging to Luke's back 17 years later. With a 900 year lifespan, you'd think his decline would be more gradual. Even alone on Dagobah, he could still communicate with Jedi ghosts or whatever to keep him sane.

1.  You are exactly right in the progression of the books after ROTJ.
2.  Then after about 25 years of getting old, the books return to Han and Luke kicking ass just like kids.

I dunno.  Its the effects of a hokey religion on the weak minded, I think.

I heard Carrie Fisher was portraying a Hutt in this one, and that Hamill and Ford are a gay couple in a Tatooine nursing home.

If that doesn't work out, Yoko Shimada from Shogun is actually doing Japanese porn now. I haven't seen it yet, but if she moans, "Oh, Anjin-san!" in it I'll have to hit pause and recharge before I watch the rest of it.

I've said too much.

No. Just enough to make her look great. Not her 90 lb frame from Ep 6.

What? She has to be in her late 60s by now. As amazing as she was, I think that time in her life has passed.

I think it would be more likely that they would show up as sage advisors, with a new cast of action leads.

And judging by the casting in Hollywood...  Josh Hutcherson, the sparkly vampire guy, Kristen Stewart, Zach Galifinakis.

CGI them to make them look young. Pick up the story right after ROJ. Forget all the books--they don't count. Give out 5 hour energy in the theaters so their fanbase won't fall asleep, and BOOM Disney sells tickets to everyones youth fantasy! Feel younger! See your favorites back in their prime!! Begin the "Mark Hamill never moved like Jet Li before" discussions.

Luke struggling to rebuild the Jedi order, the galaxy trying to overcome the disorder left by the wake of the Empire, Han trying to keep his distance from everything while Leah tries her best to be a political leader and unite the systems under the new republic, all the while an new threat looms to upset the already delicate galactic balance.

This stuff writes itself.

Go revisit Jack's performance. You will wonder how you could possibly think his performance was great. I used to think so as well. But hey, we will all young and foolish once. Heath's rendition is the way Joker should be portrayed.
