Mugato: Got-damn Rick Scott has to be the most corrupt, inept governor FL has ever had by a long shot.

leadmetal Obviously he's not inept. He's manipulated the system to collect large amounts wealth from the population and have enough friends not to land in prison. Inept would imply these things politicians such as Scott and others do aren't intentional. That there isn't some sort of self-serving plan behind their actions. Nothing inept about these popularity contest winners once we look at how their actions benefit them.

Agreed. This guy is a genius in knowing how things work to make him and his cronies money--through the courts and the good old boy appointee system. At the state level he has attempted to get rid of the moderate judges on the state supreme court and replace them with his own appointees, which luckily did not happen. At the local level in my little town he has chosen the sleaziest law firm in town to pick the new judges for him to appoint. In Florida local judges are elected, but many resign in the middle of their terms so that the new judges are appointed by the governor. Since so many business decisions end up in court, these judges are directly affecting them, swinging the verdicts in favor of their good old boy buddies. The picks in my town for local state appointees are coming from a group of very radical right wing republicans, some of whom have been indicted for fraud (but not convicted) and the others out of a pool of republican lawyers out of Tallahassee. All the judges and most of the appointees will be there until they decide to retire. So even if we get rid of Scott right now, this sorry son of a b*tch has farked us over for years to come and directly lowered our quality of life. The only thing this bastard is "inept" at is running an honest government that gives a damn about the people living in the state.

/Don't blame me, I voted for Alex Sink.

/and you still shot down the high speed rail everyone voted for too, you bald fark

That's probably the only good this he's done in office. Maybe he couldn't find a way to get a cut.

But seriously, Atlanta-Orlando would be a good high speed rail route. Orlando-Tampa was stupid. It's like sprinting from the kitchen sink to the refridgerator, you spend as much energy slowing down as speeding up, and it doesn't really save you any time. For $27B.

Seriously, no way it could be any faster than just driving the route, by the time you drive (anyway) to the station, park, get your crap, buy a ticket and wait for the train to leave. It's only a 90 min drive... Talk about a stupid Obama spending plan that sounds good but does nothing, that is it.

Radioactive Ass: Your Blog Sucks.

The Governator bankrupted California? Really? Look at the state assembly and some really dumb voters for approving tons of crap without any way to fund them first (HSR is but one example out of many). California's Governor can't take a crap without the nod from them first. It's only going to get worse now that the state assembly lies in the hands of just one party, and it ain't the Governators party either.

Also what Tellingthem: said.

california is projected to have a surplus ow that the Democrats have majorities. Odd, huh?

This, too. It's just some inept rambling from someone who doesn't know of what he/she speaks.

DrPainMD: Why are so many Farkers against stimulus and job creation?

Because it's a quick fix and the local taxpayers get stuck paying for something that will lose money in the long run. There are always strings attached to that money. It still amazes me how no one seems to know the history of the rail (Disney) and how it spiraled out of control and cost. California seemed delighted to get the stimulus funds that Florida gave up for high-speed rail and now California realizes the cost and burden and seems bogged down on their HS rail.

Friction8r: How cute. Idiot libs want their big government, but then when big government wastes money, it's the GOP's fault. Idiot libs.

Considering the fact that there appears to be exactly zero corroboration of this claim on the internets, I'd have to go with "this".
There's plenty of reason to kick this bastard out of office.  Making up shiat only gives his supporters fuel for their keyboards.

Scott would have had a good chance at being impeached in most states, but there are so many asshole retirees mucking up the works in Florida that I would bet on him finishing his term.

The real scandal is how the media has let Scott off the hook constantly and the fact that an electorate of any sort could of voted him in. Why everyone doesn't know his past or why he should of been put in jail after all this time is well beyond my understanding and since I value my sanity I had to stop thinking about it.

Reminds me of the town where my parents live. It's a small town (in Florida, I might add) whose main road was a four-lane divided highway with palm trees planted in the median. Well, a few years back the city decided to dig up all the palm trees and replace them with... palm trees.

Sadly, even the smallest towns are not immune - there's something about government that seems to attract the most corrupt, or at least corruptible, people.

I grew up in the Florida Panhandle, and all my family is still there. The Governor has one qualification: He knows how to stick it to those libs! That's it. That's his only accomplishment. If this business about the rest stops is true, it wouldn't matter if the corruption were out in the open as long as some Democrat state politician spoke up against it or the lamestream liberal media with all their liberalness writes about it. Now the glorious governor has a chance to stick it the libs.

Florida conservatives, especially in the Panhandle, are like a wine reduction sauce reduced down to the pure essence of GOP propaganda. Information most children are able to tell is bullsh*t is widely accepted as truth.

I was down there over the holidays, and the term "death panels" is still being used.

I remember a news story where VP Biden stopped at some useless government make-work stimulus project "to make sure the money wasn't being wasted." Apparently, if you work hard at producing nothing, it adds to the economy, but if you loaf around producing nothing, it's a waste of tax dollars.
