Yep. I confess, once I realized what he was doing, I got kinda grumpy. I was too young to know this sort of thing was practically a tradition.

isolated island planet-states.

Counter_Intelligent: Liked it better when it was called Ulysses 31.

I was wondering if anyone else remembered that

Tyrone Slothrop: gaspode: I would give a lot to see the Odyssey made into a movie properly, as per the source material.

I would also watch a good space version (though god knows its been the base story for enough things)

I also want to cockpunch the author for 'The Odyssey is Homer's followup to The Illiad'

I've read The Odyssey, it's really boring. The "good stuff" is just a couple of pages out of the whole thing.

It really depends on the translation you read. I tried the Alexander Pope's and T.E. Lawrence's (yes, that Lawrence) translation and found them quite hard to follow. The Penguin edition by E.V. Rieu is far easier to follow and much more enjoyable.

Ishkur: GungFu: Ulysses 31

Pretty good intro, not as good as Galaxy Rangers tho.

Not even close... that GR intro was so gay that even gay people would say that it's beyond gay.
