I love when Detroiters do this. But, its a little quick turnaround this time. With the hole testing under the driveway thing recently. But it goes like this:

Someone says something about where he is buried.

Go dig up a yard.

Find Nothing.

Wait 2-4 years and repeat.

While it might be a relatively large deal if they *actually* found him, I don't know anyone who gives the rumors and digs a second thought anymore.
The Milford dig barely rated high enough for water-cooler chatter and I'd have missed the Roseville thing entirely if not for Fark.

Detroit.  Which explains ALOT.

The feds have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in the decades-long hunt for Hoffa, according to inside sources. A 2006 Milford farm dig alone cost $250,000, sources said, and before that, in 2003, a swimming pool and the surrounding area was excavated a few hours north of Detroit. Investigators subsequently tore apart a home where Hoffa's blood reportedly stained the floorboards.

Oh for Fark's sake.  Let it go, you assholes.  He's dead - if not by foul play, then by natural causes.  Let it go.  Just Let.  It. Go.

I thought Frank Sheeran's account in "I Heard You Paint Houses" made a lot of sense - especially since the author checked out the house and confirmed that it matched Sheeran's description (save for a door that had been moved in renovation, but was originally where Sheeran stated). He was friends with Hoffa, which would help to explain why Hoffa would willingly take a ride.

Then again...Sheeran also claimed to have transported the rifles that were supposedly used by the Mafia to kill JFK, so whatever.

Donnie knows what is important to most Americans. Here are a few of his tweets from today:

@realDonaldTrump

According to many, and while nominated, I would have won the Emmy many times except for my politics.

I am a handwriting analyst. Jack Lew's handwriting shows, while strange, that he is very secretive-not necessarily a bad thing.

I can't believe @Denver_Broncos allowed final touchdown-dumbest defensive play I have ever seen in football.

Peyton Manning should have passed on 3rd down!

"I believe in spending what you have to. But I also believe in not spending more than you should." - The Art of the Deal

That last one might not appear to make sense, given his proven ability to bankrupt casinos multiple times...but you just aren't smart enough to understand his genius.

Then again...that book was ghostwritten anyway (Tony Schwartz was a "co-writer"), so those weren't Donnie's words anyway, so BACK OFF. You don't have any CLASS.

Way too many witnesses. It's not like the Ren Cen was built by a couple of guys. It's way too easy to "fit" the body into a couple 55 gallon drums, fill with to the top with concrete, dump drums in lake. Frank Sheeran's book had him being cremated which would work as well. Then there is always

Detroit mafia? Ha! There isn't enough money left in this city for the mafia to care enough to stick around, anymore. Oh sure, we've got your Russian gangsters and crap (who doesn't these days?) but whatever remnants are left of the "big league" criminals rarely leave Greektown anymore unless it's to go visit Eastern Market or something. And trying to differentiate between "mob gangster" and "legitimate businessman" became a laughable notion before half the people here were even born. There are no crime syndicates left. There's just a lot of honest business owners who just happen to "know a guy."

Aside from being loony, Frank Sheeran had a compelling story. He broke down crying saying he killed his friend." I heard you paint houses" brings that story to life. Where the body was put was not Sheeran's function. He never claimed to have known. The FBI never investigated a more probable suspect in this case.

Maybe I do not remember the book but I thought Sheeran claimed the body was cremated at funeral home in Detroit. I remember having an "oh shiat" moment because there was a description of where the funeral home was and I had a great uncle who ran a funeral home in that area. I remember checking it out on google maps and realizing my great uncle's funeral home was several miles from where Sheeran was describing. Plus I am pretty sure my great uncle's place did not do cremations. Another CSB is that I was in the area of the Red Fox (the restaurant at which Hoffa was last seen) at roughly the time he disappeared (yes, get off my lawn). I was a caddy at Oakland Hills Country Club and when things got slow we would head up to that strip mall and buy pops and ice cream bars at the dime store on the other end of the strip mall. I remember reading the Detroit News about how Hoffa went missing after a meeting at the Red Fox and realizing I was not that far away when it happened. Hmm this is pretty sad but I guess my only brushes with the famous have been being nearby when Hoffa disappeared, being on the ice with Ted Lindsay and chatting it up with Neil de Grasse Tyson before he got the NOVA Science Now gig.

Claims as to the location of the remains of Jimmy Hoffa

On January 13th, 2013, NBC New York reported that Zerilli claimed to know the location of Jimmy Hoffa's body.[2] In the report, Zerilli stated that Hoffa was buried in a field in Oakland County, 20 miles north of the now-closed Bloomfield Township restaurant Machus Red Fox, believed to be Hoffa's last known whereabouts. Zerilli, who was incarcerated at the time of Hoffa's July, 1975 disappearance, denied involvement in the Hoffa affair. He also claimed to be financially destitute. The report also stated that Mr. Zerilli has a website www.hoffafound.com where he is writing a tell all book about the Hoffa case and his life story. His media contact person is Attorney David A. Chasnick (248)763-8795.

(From Tony Zerilli's Wikipedia article. )

Does seem ridiculous, but if we get to test out new equipment and train new personnel in certain areas and tactics, then it's not a total waste.
