I'm sick of Clevelanders defending Heckert.... He picked Weeden over Russel Wilson.... Sure, so did a lot of other guys, but when the #1 need of a team is bungled so badly, i'm sorry, but i have to lay blame somewhere.

Maybe Holmgren forced him to pick Weeden... but even if he did, that still a knock on Heckert for allowing himself to be bullied.

/not saying Weeden can't get better, but he ain't no Russel Wilson.

To be fair, the went with Weeden because they figured him to be the more "game ready" of the litter. Nobody picked Wilson because they thought he would start and make an impact right away... Seattle just got lucky with him. They don't make crystal balls for this shiat...

Way to man up.

Still, there's now a valid question in Cleveland, especially since new coach Rob Chudzinski doesn't have personnel experience: Who will have final say when it comes to picking players?

...haven't they said from day 1 that Joe Banner has final say, and that's the reason why Heckert was let go in the first place?

i hear you, and you make perfect logic... But logic doesn't forgive whoever the team was that drafted Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan... We have the benefit of hindsite now, and i'm gonna use it... Heckert didn't pick the right guy, and it was huge.

Well, the stadium's about to be named First Energy Stadium, so anything is possible, right?

/Of course, when you realize that First Energy is the entity mainly responsible for the 2003 Northeast blackout, it makes sense.

I'm convinced the best way to get a green is to have some sort of error, be it grammatical, historical, etc. Mods no there will be more response due to the error.
