The "How I Met Your Mother" star is just one of many celebs who puts out a statement via social media and then asks the media to respect his privacy. That's counter-intuitive, isn't it?

Yes, because announcing a major life event to your fans is exactly the same as having your children stalked by a pack of scuzzy paparazzi.

I'm actually old enough to remember when "news" was actually news and not just opinionated wharrrlgarbl from a bunch of loudmouth gasbags whining and yelling at each other.

If there were still such a thing as an unbiased real news network, Fox News would be unworthy of licking the sweat from their ballsack.

asurferosa: Everybody is a hypocrite.

I have chosen to set reasonable limits to my professional hypocrisy, and choose not to cross those limits. When my limits have been pushed, I have chosen to change professions. Yes, I am fortunate, not everybody can make those decisions easily

I think if you make a living portraying gun violence in cinema, then you really should STFU about gun violence. Your not part of the solution! Set some boundaries on your hypocrisy and follow them. Jamie Foxx and choose roles that do not portray gun violence where lots of white people get killed if he truly has a problem with gun violence.

/The commercial references is clearly anti-gun
//second amendment supporter
///thinks the NRA are hypocrites too

telling someone who plays pretend for a living not to play pretend is stupid. So is blaming fiction for gun violence instead of...guns.

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: kronicfeld: yeegrek: The Jamie Foxx one was the worst. Conservatives have this weird idea that acting in a movie means you 100% endorse every last thing in said movie. When Terrance Howard was in Hustle and Flow, they would ask "How can he talk about treating women with respect when he played a pimp?". In that same vein, Django Unchained doesn't "promote" gun violence.

Remember when Jewish director Steven Spielberg made that movie promoting the genocide of Jews? What a hypocrite!

You know how I know you never saw Schindler's List?

How can so many people in one thread misinterpret so many simple posts?

First the guy who misinterpreted the NPH comment, and now this. Drink some coffee or something, guys.

When acting is your job, the character that you are playing does not always represent your personal beliefs and neither does the movie.

The problem is that Fox News knows that people are gullible enough to think that they do. People have a problem with separating fantasy from reality. They think Jamie Fox is going to come off the set of Django and start killing white people with guns.

THAT is the problem.

I think animals should be treated ethically. I'm also an unapologetic carnivore.
Does that make me a hypocrite?

I support the military and believe it's a vital and necessary and honorable institution.

And I'd have done anything to dodge the draft that sent more than a half million Americans straight to their deaths ... all for nothing at all ... partially because of that reverence for the military.

A soldier takes personal responsibility for defending his freedom, and the rest of us benefit from that. When he is used by his leaders for any purpose other than national defense, it is an assault on his honor. Instead of being a willing and voluntary guardian of peace and freedom, he becomes a conscripted tool of conquest.

Fox News could have used a more recent example: Nickie Minaj, who encouraged young people to vote despite not being registered to vote herself.

oh wait, she also endorsed Romney, she's not going to appear here.

Who dodge the draft, get out of jail time for being a junkie and doctor shopping, paragon of virtue, a single man who goes to the DR with a bucketful of Viagra to whore, and also the same guy who wants the government to pay for his little blue pills, but does not government to pay for female birth control.

I think this list proves that whoever wrote it doesn't comprehend the concept of moderation. Like, being an environmentalist does not ipso facto mean you want to get rid of oil entirely and you're tying yourself to trees in order to save them. Sting and John Travolta can zip around in their private jets and still be interested in curbing our oil dependency. Neil Patrick Harris probably wants to share a limited amount of information about his private life with his fans, but dislikes being stalked by the press. Jamie Foxx can want guns to be more strictly regulated, but still want them to be available. Lady Gaga can dislike the way our culture treats women's bodies and still want to exercise.

The one I will give them is Paris Hilton doing a "get out the vote" thing and not being registered to vote.

When a wife and husband announce that they're having twins, does it have anything to do with them being straight?

No, and neither should this. But the entry on NPH was weak as hell. "OMG!! HE Wants PRIVACY but said something on TWITTER!!" is a bunch of weak bulllshiat, and given Fox News' leanings, there is only one reason why they would put NPH on that list. A guy, who by all accounts is a stand up guy and a great family man.

Soo, you're saying that two people in a relationship (marriage, even in this case) who announce that they have successfully reproduced does not have any implications that they are straight?
