Grandemadaca: styckx: That list was awful.. Every point that made was derpy as hell.

What do you expect from Fox News?
Manufactured outrage.

Manufactured outrage is how Rupert makes his money. The man more or less said he wanted Obama to get a second term because it would mean better ratings for Fox.

My two favorites were the Al Gore one and Lady Gaga. Gore's a hypocrite because he sold his network to Al-Jazeera? REALLY? Aren't there like documented cases of how big his house is, or the fact that he uses a private jet to get to places to lecture about the environment?

And Lady Gaga is a hypocrite because she doesn't have body issues, but the magazines that take her picture MIGHT photoshop her and Fox News THINKS she could stop it if she wanted to....

This one is akin to me being a hypocrite if I say that I don't condone murder, and someone else commits murder. I'm not a hypocrite just because you think I could have stopped someone else from doing something.

His first wife, Debbie, has reportedly said that Dr. Phil isn't exactly a model husband and expected her to do all domestic chores as well as keep a good physique.

And?

MrEricSir: Vodka Zombie: I don't think Fox News should really be calling anyone hypocrites.

Why not? They're experts on the subject.

Apparently not, since they still seemed confused on the very definition.

Vodka Zombie: kronicfeld: I hear that Sting is pro-environment but still lives in a house with indoor plumbing. I mean, right?

I know.  And, get this, he plays a freakin' ELECTRIC bass.  Does he know where the electric comes from for his bass?  That shiat doesn't just grow on trees, ya know.

Unless the electricity was generated from biomass.

Cythraul: Uranus Is Huge!: Cythraul: Uranus Is Huge!: Conservatives hate Hollywood because it's chocked full of liberals. It is chocked full of liberals because there are so few creative conservatives. There's Jon Voight, Dennis Miller, Glenn Beck, and that's about it.

The actors who portray the parts may be liberal, the producers, and studio owners.. eeh, not so much.

Even if you're correct, I don't know that I would consider producers and studio heads 'creative'.

Who throws all those Democratic fundraisers during election season?

From Hollywood?  I have no idea.

On economic and defense issues, many Hollywood producers and studio heads are fairly conservative and, up until 20 to 30 years ago, were habitual supporters of the GOP. However, because the religious right is now such a big part of the conservative movement and the Republican Party, the strategy has been to cater to these voters by depicting Hollywood as a godless anti-American Sodom and Gomorrah that exists solely corrupt our youth into thinking dirty thoughts and even (gasp) voting Democratic. As a result, many former Hollywood Republicans have either become independents or switched to the Democratic Party simply because they strongly dislike the modern GOP's stances on gays and other social issues.

My OP was just a dig at Glenn Beck.

MadAzza: Abe Vigoda's Ghost: kronicfeld: yeegrek: The Jamie Foxx one was the worst. Conservatives have this weird idea that acting in a movie means you 100% endorse every last thing in said movie. When Terrance Howard was in Hustle and Flow, they would ask "How can he talk about treating women with respect when he played a pimp?". In that same vein, Django Unchained doesn't "promote" gun violence.

Remember when Jewish director Steven Spielberg made that movie promoting the genocide of Jews? What a hypocrite!

You know how I know you never saw Schindler's List?

How can so many people in one thread misinterpret so many simple posts?

First the guy who misinterpreted the NPH comment, and now this. Drink some coffee or something, guys.

THIS! I was amazed when I saw both. Really, dial down the knee-jerking a bit and read. All y'all are on the same side. The only thread-shiatter is Brick-ForBrains and he's gone now.

That was pretty dull. Slow "news" day at Fox, I guess.

Fox "News" strikes again.

2013-01-14 07:51:05 PM

babysealclubber: No, and neither should this. But the entry on NPH was weak as hell. "OMG!! HE Wants PRIVACY but said something on TWITTER!!" is a bunch of weak bullshiat, and given Fox News' leanings, there is only one reason why they would put NPH on that list. A guy, who by all accounts is a stand up guy and a great family man.

That's why it drives them crazy. He conducts his life like a perfectly normal person, and they need something good. Like how often he has sex, and whether he's the groom or the bride, and who breastfed the kids. Something lurid, so they can nod their heads and say, Yes, yes, we knew it.

2013-01-14 07:55:05 PM
What about Angelina Jolie ? She puts herself out there like she's some kind of wacko sex freak, but she hasn't not even once gone down on me. Poseur !

Daaayyyummmmm Eliza Dushku look good.

What da fark was this article about?

Onkel Buck: Wellon Dowd: Gun safety. Saving the planet. If you can't completely solve the problem you shouldn't do anything.

You can do all you want just don't be all smug and douchey about it. Why does everyone expect a pat on the back for doing the littlest thing? If you recycle great, it doesnt mean you deserve a statue in the middle of downtown

Well, they're doing a lot more than recycling.

2013-01-14 09:04:37 PM

SpiderQueenDemon: Abe Vigoda's Ghost: I think animals should be treated ethically. I'm also an unapologetic carnivore.
Does that make me a hypocrite?

Nope. The only reason why I don't hunt delicious deer is because I am too poor a shot to ensure they die quickly and with a minimum of pain. You can respect the animal's life and still eat it, use every feasible part of its' body and then in return arrange for your remains to feed other animals. That's an American value that precedes European settlement, in fact.

That's why The Lord invented fishing.

This. No mention of Rush "Defend Sanctity of Marriage... Um, Three Divorces Later" Limbaugh.

thurstonxhowell: Lernaeus: I'd have done anything to dodge the draft that sent more than a half million Americans straight to their deaths

More than half a million Americans dead in Vietnam? You might want to check that...

Don't stop him. He's on a roll!

even the paris hilton point? really?

2013-01-15 02:03:27 AM

yeegrek: The Jennifer Aniston and Dr. Phil ones had the beginnings of a point, but that was about it.

The Jamie Foxx one was the worst. Conservatives have this weird idea that acting in a movie means you 100% endorse every last thing in said movie. When Terrance Howard was in Hustle and Flow, they would ask "How can he talk about treating women with respect when he played a pimp?". In that same vein, Django Unchained doesn't "promote" gun violence.

what about the paris hilton one? to me that was the worst one.

CSB... I knew Terrance in College (Pratt Institute 1992-ish) he tried to fark everything that moved. Nice guy though. Not sure he wasn't a bit of a pimp already.

List fails without Ted Nugent.

Ilmarinen: FedExPope: Came here to say this. Unless PETA is also a vegetarian orgnaizaton, I see no reason why hunting and eating animals can't be done ethically.

This. So no firearms, just you and your wits against the elk.

Thats so funny. You do realize that humans are (currently) the top of the food chain, don't you? You also know that humans eat meat because a vegetarian diet alone is not adequate to provide a health amount of energy to power a human brain, don't you? Oh you don't? Well carry on then.

I must be a hypocrite because I claim to be concerned about the environment even though my main mode of transport is a motorcycle. Due to less strict emissions standards, motorcycles spew more pollutants per mile than cars despite consuming less fuel per mile.

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: motorcycles spew more pollutants per mile than cars despite consuming less fuel per mile.

So it's a wash, then?

airsupport: Wow, I thought I was reading Fark, but it turns out I was reading an old STAR magazine.

Thanks for the up-to-the-minute emptyheaded celebrity fluff piece!

You're reading fark.com/entertainment...which is exactly like an old STAR magazine. Why don't you try not clicking on that tab next time.
