These were the same informed MA voters who gave him a Senate seat because he drove a truck?

EyeballKid: These were the same informed MA voters who gave him a Senate seat because he drove a truck?

That was more a function of huge Republican turnout and poor Democrat turnout during the Tea Party surge. In other words, lots of voters with trucks.

No, they gave him a Senate seat because Martha Coakley didn't care about the Boston Red Sox. Republicans could've been running the truck itself and beaten Coakley.

Which was a function of Martha Coakley being a terrible candidate. Scott Brown had almost nothing to do with winning, anyone remotely popular could have won after the gaffes Coakley made.

Coakley didn't run a campaign. She assumed she would win the seat and phoned the whole thing in.

Every middle aged woman I work with did, however, vote for Brown simply because he was a hot guy driving a truck.

In fact, she SPECIFICALLY stated that she had no intention of going out and doing campaign events. Shortly before dissing the Red Sox. It really boggles the mind.

Has he ever worked for Bain Capital?
Has he ever released his taxes?
Was his dad ever a failed presidential candidate?
Does he have a dog?
Does he know who lets the dogs out?
Does he know what a donut is?

These are important things to know when selecting a governor for Massachusetts.

2013-01-14 09:32:28 AM
Governor? Good luck with that. He's got a track record as a senator, and something of a political base for that position. I don't see anyone wanting him to be Governor.

2013-01-14 09:35:07 AM
I don't want Brownie anywhere near the State House or in Washington representing me.

I didn't have strong feelings for or against him until this past campaign... He came across as misogynistic meat head and his supporters were generally raging assholes.

You know, Republicans.

Even if Brown were to win an expected late spring special election for the Senate - he would enter as a favorite

Is this really the conventional thinking? Because, frankly, I don't see it. The GOP hates him and the left is motivated to keep the GOP from picking up the seat. I suppose moderates are favorable to him, but he derped it up pretty good this last campaign. I find it hard to believe he would enter a special election as a favorite.

He definitely knows that. I saw him in line at Dunkin Donuts one morning. Since it wasn't campaign time, he was driving an SUV.

Yeah, it's unfortunate, too. The insanity of the national GOP has infected the MA GOP in the last few years...

There were a lot of very reasonable Republicans in this state at one time. Now, it seems like every Republican I meet these days is of the same irrationally unhinged, ideological variety you see on the national stage.

He'll have the name recognition, which is what all pre-campaign polls really are. And since Republican voters tend to be pissed off all the time, they are always more likely to vote with less prodding from Political Organizations.

It is entirely possible that MA voters will elect him Governor.

We keep hoping for Wlliam Weld v2.0, but that hasn't worked out so well the past few times that office went to the GOP.

so he's likely to win the 2013 special election, but likely to lose the 2014 reelection?  seems very fickle.

Not. Likely.

True story: Several years ago, my then co-worker dubbed him that, after the wrestler of the same name and Keylock71 (or maybe Jackson Herring, I don't remember which) made the hilarious photoshop you see in the boobies.

I need to tell my friend- now a law student- that a website he's never heard of is still using his insult.

He's the Ryan Lochte of Mass politics.

Well Romney didn't *completely* fark shiat up. His downfall was post-governor.

The biggest thing I remember is she came off as not really giving a shiat. Like the election should be handed to her.

He's an asshole, so I won't be voting for him, regardless of the opposition.

Most MA voters don't read his voting record or that he goes straight party ticket and was nothing but a right wing shill in senate, so they think "Warren just seemed biatchy" or something like that.

When push comes to shove, he is going to need the Townies to come out in droves for him to win. Anyone in or around Boston/Brookline would rather do without this jack-hole.
