(SFGate)   San Francisco police report 92 ejections and 25 arrests during the 49ers / Packers game. Apparently, Raiders fans have to watch someone play in the post season   (sfgate.com) divider line 31

I watched a Steelers fan escorted out of M&T Bank stadium when the Steelers came back late in the 4th quarter to knock us out of the playoffs.

Free ticket? Sure. But I'll never pay to deal with that many idiots at once.

Oh, I should add, he wasn't doing anything wrong. Besides singing the wrong team song. He was escorted out for his protection.

What, was he singing the Steeler Polka or something?  Otherwise there is no "Steeler team song."

\and IIRC there's a Niners fan on Fark that said that he's hoping the move out of San Fran will clean up the stuff in TFA.

He was singing something when the Steelers scored. Could have just been shouting Steelers over and over, but the way he was swirling his arm around belied a certain funky cadence.

Is there more money in being family-friendly, or more money in catering to drunks with too much disposable income? That will determine how fast things get cleaned up.

I've been to Candlestick many times and never had a problem at a 49ers game. Now, Giants games on the other hand....

Having said that the new Giants stadium is much nicer and I won't be sad to see Candlestick go.

This is part of the reason why beer is so expensive in the stadium. Granted, a much larger part is margin of profit from a captive audience, but still.

SF fans, so gay for cock that they commit crimes like this just to go to prison.

Since this seems the closest thing to a game recap thread we have, here is as good as any other to pout that the Packers lost.

Might want to tell Dom Capers that Colin Kaepernick can run.

Count me among those that think the new stadium will be more peaceful. Might even go to a game now.

It really wasn't that bad. The undercover narcs seems to have had an impact.

My sentiments exactly after going to the Lions-49ers game this season on a free ticket.

i'd love just one thread about San Francisco sports that doesn't feature some clearly witty and original individual making a gay joke

Meh. The Bills average over 100 ejections per game. I'm not sure how many are arrested. Lots of drunk people in a small area means lots of fights. I saw 10 people get kicked out in the 1st half in a game I went to this year. It probably helps the ejection count when the team is terrible: more angry fans and the games have less meaning.

I knew something was off about the gameplan, dang it.

//No, I am not actually Dom Capers.

Well to put a rainbow in it, it just means that men want to insert themselves into Bay Area sports. It simply means that our sports teams have been thrust upward from the bottom to the top of the collective consciousness and that like a golfer we are mere strokes away from regaining our Glory ... holes.

LOL, I went with a friend to the AFC Championship game in Foxboro when the Pats beat the Chargers a number of years back. We rode the train to/from Foxboro. After the game, we had to cross pretty much undeveloped land to get on the train - lots of construction going on then. It was surreal, you're drunk, have just come from inside the stadium, it's nearly dark and you have to negotiate this icy snow covered downhill to get on the train. Megaphone warble goes off and this state trooper (assume so, his uniform looked like something Goering designed) is standing up near the top and he says something along the lines of "Help your fellow drunks back up the hill, people. If we have to come down there and get our boots wet, we're arresting everybody for public intoxication." And then I see what he's talking about, there is a gaggle of drunks which have collected in this little "hole" at the bottom of the hill, trying to get out. Oh, the humanity.

Enough people went down that we didn't have to. On the train ride back, there is a bolts fan in our compartment and he tells us he was trying to help people out before the cops said anything and that he ended up bailing, that there was a drunk Pats fan in the middle of the whole thing, who kept pulling people back in and fighting with everybody. LOL.

Worst thing that really happened at this game (aside from normal drunkenness) was 49ers fans chanting "Go Pack. Go." as Packers' fans left the stadium

As a Green Bay owner who lives in San Francisco, before the game I was just hoping that it would be a fair game with an outcome based on the skill of the players and no weird calls; and that none of my Wisconsin brothers would get killed in the parking lot.

Thanks for staying classy SF, and not hurting anyone.

And if anyone can explain why Dom Capers kept letting Kapernic get through the D like a greased pig, I'd sure like to understand that.

/go packers.
//next year.......sigh

Unless you're planning on putting on suiting up for the team, you'll be sitting on the couch just like the rest of us.

/I hate when "fans" say "we" as if they're actually going to play.

That's because the home team won. If the Packers won, I'm sure the danger level would have been much higher
