You know, the Ravens are a damn good team and can absolutely beat NEP this weekend.  Why would you do this?  WTF is this kid thinking?

So he's calling the Patriots cheaters for the "lets hurry up n snap it" offense? Have fun setting your defense and not disguising your coverages you cheater.

Yeah, that didn't make sense to me. Defenses might not like quick snaps, but they're not against any rules at all.

Also (as a neutral observer, because the Lions are so terrible) trash-talking Tom Brady isn't usually a great strategy. We'll see how it works out for him.

Exactly. Who was that DB on the Steelers who was calling out Brady and the Patriots years ago who ended up getting torched for 3 TDs in one game?

Shouldn't that be "Ravens special teams player Ayabedejo". Easy to talk from the safety of the punt team.

Anyway, Baltimore isn't as good as they were last year and they couldn't beat NE then. I don't expect them to this year either. Course I didn't expect them to beat Denver, but hey, when has being wrong ever stopped anyone from pretending they know stuff?

So Ayanbadejo didn't say "They're good enough without [gimmickry]"?

// surprise surprise - a defender doesn't like the hurry-up
// why would you give them material?
// "bitachassness" was a particularly bad idea

Isn't this the same gay-rights advocate that was told to shut up by the MD state legislature?

I'm confused at why "going fast" is considered a revolutionary offensive strategy in the NFL in 2013. Did coordinaters just realize that it is easier to run a play against a defense that isn't set?

2013-01-14 10:47:05 AM
I think "linebacker" is too strong of a word for a guy who started 3 games this year.

2013-01-14 10:48:34 AM

Frozboz: that

One member of the legislature, who I believe was told to shut up by the Ravens ownership.

2013-01-14 10:48:47 AM
Don't like it? Hustle your ass into position before the snap and make them pay for doing it. Preemptively wetting your panties in public over it isn't exactly intimidating or inspiring.

I loathe the fact that I have to pull for NE this weekend. At this stage in the playoffs I hate the Falcons the least of the 4 remaining teams.

Picking a winner in the Ravens/Pats game is like choosing which STD you would like.

Frozboz: Isn't this the same gay-rights advocate that was told to shut up by the MD state legislature?

Yep. Chris Kluwe wrote an epic piece in defense of him to the MD state delegate in question, but he ended up getting much of the pro-gay rights fanfare from the mainstream and I think a lot of people kinda forgot about Ayandadejo.

First they called the timeouts to ice the kicker,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a kicker.

Then they tried to force a fumble on a quarterback kneeldown,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a quarterback.

Then they quick snapped to catch the defense off guard,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

2013-01-14 11:04:37 AM

Killer Cars: Ayandadejo.

Much like I did as I clearly effed up the spelling of his name.

"18-1" was a cute tweet.

I believe the response is "Billy Cundiff",

/or is it "Laces Out"?

Go ahead, make Brady angry. He plays about 10x better when he gets mad.

Are you watching the game pats vs texans? If so you see the hurry snap offense catch em b4 they set up. It's a gimmick.

Better start getting used to that.

On the contrary I think they have a better chance. Their offensive play calling has been atrocious for two seasons now. With Cameron gone they have a chance to actually access all the offensive talent they have.

Their coordinator called, "Ray Rice straight up the middle at Vince Willfork at least 15 times in that loss, sometimes twice in a row. With Cameron mercifully out the door I think we've just begun to see what they can do offensively. Also as bad as the Broncos looked that night their D has been playing pretty well and got brutalized last night by the Ravens WRs. In comparison NE's defense has looked like shiat routinely for about 3 years. They're the best they've been in a while but they still suck.

Pats Regular Season: 5972 yards and 38 touchdowns allowed
Broncos Regular Season: 4652 yards and 32 TDs allowed.

If you think the Ravens offense doesn't have a decent chance to humiliate a defense that records numbers like that you're sadly mistaken.

I wish the NFL would lower the play clock so all teams had to play at a higher tempo. It may make the view of your average NFL game near enjoyable.

After that first game, the offense has looked miles better after getting rid of Cam. Thank goodness too, I've only been asking for them to can him for two seasons now. Not that I have any say in how the Ravens run their business, but as the typical loud mouthed fantm, I did the best I could to see him out the door from my armchair.

They kept deleting my facebook comments about firing him. I'm surprised they got them all, I was hitting every status update they did.

It's not, but having one play in hand for 1st and goal inside the five that every guy knows so it's not even really a traditional hurry up where the QB calls the play while the team is getting set is kind of novel.

Makes complete sense to do it, because it keeps the D from putting in a goal line team. Especially if you catch them in dime with 6 DBs you should be able to manhandle them for the necessary yardage.

Thought it was pretty slick, never seen it before.

This is why I love Australian Rules/Rugby. All the scrumming of football, no pads, and no break in the action.

/and no penalties for celebrations!

Eh, Nick Saban whined about how it shouldn't be allowed in the NCAA and he got a title, maybe Ayanbadejo thinks that correlation = causation.

Which also shouldn't have been allowed - the timeout was called well before the snap, but they went ahead after the play had stopped and took the practice kick, too.

They aren't supposed to do it but it's not a flagable offense. The refs should have told him to get the hell off the field.

This is almost as douchy as the Dolphins player who complained that Brady kept running the same play over and over that the Dolphins were unable to defend.

Is that true? It did seem odd to me, in that I can't remember someone doing that before. If it was "illegal" though, it doesn't seem like the refs would just stand there and watch.

I think Pereira wrote that they were supposed to shoo them off the field, but didn't. there's no penalty for it, but you are told not to do it, much like faking an injury in that sense

he's trying to steal a page from the NY Giants' playbook which when playing the patriots very specifically calls for "trash talking the patriots' offense to the media"

of course he's nowhere near as good as the Giants organization is at trolling, so it'll probably backfire on the guy

Former NFL VP of officiating Mike Periera or however you spell his name's twitter, and Referee Jim D....whatever's Twitter.

Illegal might be too strong a word. You're not supposed to do it and the refs aren't supposed to allow it to happen but there's no penalty if it does happen. Which basically means "hey, do this all you want!"
