skinink: I want my sentient car and I want it now!

I don't want a sentient car. Nothing worse than having to convince your car that you have to go to work, and not the mall parking lot to pick up cute minivans.

I think that this Corvette will be an amazing car for the money compared to European counterparts. It still looks to have a cheap interior but lots of driver assists (needed). Great car for speed and better looks.

Does it stand up to the GT-R. No nothing does for the money.

Wulfman: fusillade762: Looks like a Charger and a Viper had a baby.

I was going to say Camaro and Viper.

Yeah definitely has the Camaro taillights. Which is funny because when the new model came out I at first thought it was a new Corvette due to the four taillights. Came full circle I guess.

2013-01-13 09:27:33 PM
Looks pretty wide. Like an AMC Pacer.

2013-01-13 09:28:24 PM
The interior looks much improved as well. Not up to Lamborghini or Ferrari standards, but it's less than half the price.

2013-01-13 09:30:09 PM

whatshisname: Too many holes and bumps all over it. Looks like it was carved with a big chisel then tinkered with for too long.

This. Looks like there could be a sexy car underneath all that, but the lines need flattened and smoothed out.

No gun rack? That's a deal breaker.

ZzeusS: For the Small Penised Man on a Budget, the new Chevy Corvette

For the small-walleted thread-poster bent on psychological projection, the above comment.

So that's a Matador.

Oh, wait...

Sure, why not.

Looks like A GT-R and a C6 Corvette meshed together.

This. With a little bit of Aston mixed in towards the rear roofline. And to quote Clarkson, it looks like someone was given a ruler and a sheet of paper and told, 'no compound curves'.

Curious how the valves are computer controlled; if it's similar to how Honda does it, etc.

The shape looks like it won't age well. Meh. If it works for you, more power to you, not my thing.

KopiLuwaked: Does it stand up to the GT-R. No nothing does for the money.

Now that the GT-R is close to $100k, it's hard to leap to that conclusion.

cqaudi: Ima4nic8or: The only thing that bugs me is the power decrease. Werent they up to 505 or 550 hp? What gives? Is this Obama's bullshiat fuel mileage requirements kicking in?

marsgwar: They couldn't even bother to put an engine with the same hp as a CTS-V. Weak.

The base C6 has the 430hp LS3. The C7 has the new 450hp LT1.

ZO6 / ZR1 models will be along next with much more HP.

It goes 0-60 in less than four seconds. At some point horsepower just becomes a number when you factor in weight, aerodynamics and suspension.

2013-01-13 09:33:01 PM
Not bad.

2013-01-13 09:33:09 PM
So if I drive around a rusted out '89 Buick Century with 225000 miles people will think I'm hung like a horse?

kmt11: I guess I'm in the minority here, I like it.

It's an awesome car, Farkers just love to hate on everything, more so if it's American.

Why do you need more than 10 rounds in a magazine 150 hp? What could you possibly be doing that you need more than that? You should feel bad for thinking you do.

2013-01-13 09:34:31 PM
Well, it's no PT Cruiser, that's for sure.

Better luck next time.

Fish in a Barrel: It looks like a different person was responsible for each part of the body, and they worked independently.

Corvettes have sucked since the 1970s, and this continues the trend.

I really can't understand how a car can both be a substitute for a small penis and be considered sexually hot, that is unless the target market is guys who deny they are GAY.

First thing that ran through my head too.

I call it reverse projection. I drive a Smart car.

That doesn't mean you have a big dick, it means you are one.

I'll keep my Astro van, thanks.

aiiee: The thing is that anyone with any brains has gotten as far away from the American Auto industry as possible, hence the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro taillights and all.

Actually the 5th gen camaro got it's tail lights from the corvette.

It's not bad, I think they're getting away from the clean smooth curves which define the corvette.
Still pretty decent looking...

We have a 2010 camaro and absolutely love it, I'll bet the Vette is a blast to drive.

You spend a lot of time thinking about penis, don't you?

Doesn't look bad to me. But I wouldn't own one.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks they tried to rip off the 458, poorly.

Not a bad looking car. But, I have never been a 'vette fan. Doesn't mean I don't respect what they are.

2013-01-13 09:41:23 PM
It looks tasty enough, but you know it'll be a cross between a John Deere harvester and a shopping trolley.

The thing that's really holding back the Corvette series are the cost-saving measures like plastic body panels and consumer-grade construction.

It's a monstrosity of design-by-committee. The engineers have created an amazing engine and suspension with great aerodynamics. Classic American mechanical engineering genius. Then the accountants came in and made the body panels and interior be cheap plastic. Classic American penny-wise, pound-foolish financials.

If they really wanted to make something special, and it may just be restricted to the Z-01 series, they'd replace the body and panels with ceramics, aluminium, titanium and carbon fibre. The Italians, the French, the Germans and the British have all moved into these materials because they're simply better. If Chevy want the Corvette to truly be a brand-ambassador, they need to act like it and compete with the German and Italian supercars on a whole-car basis.

2013-01-13 09:44:12 PM
I like it better than the last few corvettes. A lot better.

How many times has the GT-R won Le Mans again?

/Not a fan of the 'Vette, but I know my place.

It's not bad, but it sure as f*ck ain't a Stingray.

Not. It looks like one third Toyota, one third Ferrari knockoff, and one third Vauxhall.

And not necessarily the good thirds.
