It causes entirely predictable stomach bleeding after taking high doses of it for a long time. As in months or years.

Popping a pair of Advil every few weeks won't cause GI bleeds. And you'll notice the killer "heartburn" long before you start getting woozy from blood loss.

I'm pretty sure if you know, or should know, that if you're really impaired by a case of the flu or something, that you come under this too. In which case ibuprofen would probably make you less impaired with pain and fever.

To be honest, I'm pretty much impaired when I have a migraine. Migraines affect my vision and speech and make me way too sensitive to light and noise. Oh, and then I have to deal with headache pain and acute nausea, too.

No, I won't drive with a migraine. Too dangerous.

Kind of a stupid law. I have serious spring/summer allergies. I need to take antihistamine, steroid and eye drops otherwise it's tear my own eyes out.

If I don't I'll be a wet mess. Eyes red and watering, nose running, etc. Yes, nature is pretty toxic to me.

Hey, this is Fark, you're not supposed to be actually reading the articles, just make claims that fit your preconceived notion of how think the world operates.

UK law makes the offence to 'drive whilst unfit through drink or drugs'. That makes no distinction between illegal, prescription, self-medicated or any other option of drugs.

The oddity being that if you are prescribed (say) anti-psychotics that keep you stable, you are OK to drive with them. If you decide not to take your meds you go crazy but as it's the lack of drugs, no offence - carry on.

My point is, we're heading down a slippery slope if we start categorizing this sort of thing under driving while impaired. I'm fine with some moron who drank two bottles of cough syrup to get high, but by going after your average person using the medication as directed we will be putting a huge group of people into that category.

My comment was intended to be a joke on New Hampshire's latest knee-jerk anti-drug spasms.

The stomach bleeds from NSAIDS, however, are no joke. The cause an astounding number of deaths and injuries every year.
