Peyton needs to retire if he's going to take knee with two time outs and half a minute left to go into OT.

I hate to be in a position to defend Peyton, but I simply can't believe that was his decision.

That was classic John Fox. As said over in the game thread, John Fox is conservative enough to have his own show on Fox News.

That game was over in regulation. The only thing that could go wrong is the secondary allowing a ridiculous TD. And there it is.

I still find that play hard to believe. Rule #1 in that situation is that you don't let receivers behind you. Rule #2 is that you at least attempt to make a play on the ball.

/Rule #3 is see Rule #1.

Grand_Moff_Joseph: I got many lulz seeing the Broncos lose, but Tebow again?!  LOLWUT

My wife's aunt, who lives in Colorado and is recently really vocal concerning her right wing/Christian beliefs, has expressed her displeasure on Facebook regarding the way Tebow was treated in Denver.
I'm betting in her mind this is God's way of teaching the Broncos' organization a lesson.

The refereeing in the first half was as bad as any games with the replacement refs. Most bad calls went against Denver but they had multple chances to put it way. Don't like the Broncos but it was nice to see Manning come back from the injury. Man, both the my preseason sb picks out in one day.

Not sure how bringing back the Packers-Seahawks refs will make the Broncos/Ravens game right, but I like where your head is at, subby.

Subby is either trolling, or a football tard and needs a new TV.

Broken Clouds

Wut? Try 13° / 1° wind chill at kickoff, about 8° / -4° wind chill at the end.

Shame the Broncos lost. It would've been fun if next week's game was played in Denver on one of those oddball 65° January days.

2013-01-13 12:24:50 AM
It's The Curse of the Tebow - the Broncos will never win a playoff game so long as the team remains in Denver...

/or, at least, that's what the sports blogs are saying...

2013-01-13 12:25:40 AM
At least manning will be healthy and improving his passing and the ability of his receivers over the offseason.

In other words: at least he didn't get RGKnee'd.

This. Peyton Manning did his usual Peyton Manning thang, but the Denver defense just couldn't hold a lead.  Bummer.

Awful throw by Manning in OT. Not as bad as getting beat deep with 8 guys playing pass with 30 seconds to go up by 7.

Ravens v. Patriots for AFC Champ again? Fark, do I really want two weeks of SB coverage of Ray Lewis' retirement? Or 2 weeks of barely concealed Brady man love? Ugh.

Agreed. I can't imagine not taking at least a couple of relatively safe shots and then taking a knee if nothing happens. Who knows... maybe you get into field goal range, maybe you don't... but least try. It's only the divisional playoffs.

Champ showed his age. He's been in the league a long time.

Let's be honest here. If you take away the 14 special team points, which are never reliable, this game wasn't close. It only looked close because Denver got lucky.

My fundamental problem wasn't the play calling but what I thought the game calling reflected which was an overall lack of urgency. The Ravens played like this was their last game and the Broncos played like it was a box to tick on the way to the Superbowl. The Ravens had more fire and passion; they simply wanted it more.

That is 100% on Fox.

Tie game. Peyton has the ball with two timeouts. Let's just take a kneel down and play for OT.

These are things you do in a game when your QB is Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow, not Peyton Manning.

Denvers pain does not lead me into such silliness. Tebow is an anomoly, but not a NFL QB. Manning is an NFL QB and his 2nd half today was an anomoly.

Have you watched Peyton in cold weather in the playoffs before?

If anything Peyton winning the AFC Championship game in Foxboro in the cold when he won his only ring is an anomoly.

11 playoff losses means he's made the playoffs a lot, it doesn't mean he sucks.

8 times one and done, usually as a prohibitive favorite, shows he's capable of making a team a post season favorite on a consistent basis.

I also don't see how he can be criticized when he has a Superbowl winning playoff run.
He threw 3 TDs and only 7 interceptions in that legacy defining postseason and his critics act like it never happened.

Seriously, who ops to run the clock and go into OT with 30 seconds left on the clock and two, count it TWO timeouts left. Whoever greened that needs to be shot out of a cannon.

I was really wishing there was a sports book nearby. I was all over Baltimore at least covering that huge spread.

Man that has to be a disappointing sting to Denver believers then. They were supposed to fly high in that game not leap off a cliff onto tocks
