Who eats anything besides the Thin Mints anyway?

I Something something because I ate a brownie.

Get it?

Gyrfalcon: Who eats anything besides the Thin Mints anyway?

Tagalongs and Samoas and Do-Si-Dos are the bomb yo. You need to diversify your cookie intake Mofo.

2013-01-12 09:18:36 PM
Just give me a couple boxes of the shortbread ones and nobody gets hurt

2013-01-12 09:19:18 PM
Samoas. That is all.

2013-01-12 09:22:09 PM
I liked the lemon ones. Do they still sell those?

2013-01-12 09:22:51 PM
I remember when I was younger they did a chocolate chip rainforest cookie with a bunch of seeds and stuff in it. Terrible and I wasted precious allowance on it. I don't think it came back the next year.

Congrats on the new "Smarm Badge" Gawker.

I'll take 50 boxes of Thin Mints and a freezer to store them.

I have no idea what that article's point was.

2013-01-12 09:26:01 PM
"NutriFusion™" is probably something better described as "bulk dehydrated fruit pulp we couldn't sell to someone else in time, this stuff only lasts 5 years."

2013-01-12 09:27:07 PM
Fark that Mango FLAVORED GS cookie! I'm holding out for the tofu-vegi cookie with a hint of wasabi! You know it's comin!

Can't wait to stock my freezer full of Thin Mints for the impending thin mint chocolate milkshakes

2013-01-12 09:29:15 PM
Samoa covered thin mints. You're welcome, Girl Scouts of America. Just leave my Nobel Prize by the door, I'll pick it up on my way out.

2013-01-12 09:29:38 PM
Safeway sells a knock-off of samoas for when you have a hankering off season!

Thin mints are only ok.

2013-01-12 09:30:50 PM

Mercury: Samoas. That is all.

Keebler has a new line out, "Coconut Dreams", which taste exactly like Samoas. Seriously. Plus you don't have to wait for pushy 12 year old girls to pound on your door to get them.

"I got a bad case of the Mango Crème from a girl scout."

Thin Mints, Samoas and the Shortbread thingies are what I buy each and every year. Girl Scouts may keep their Mango nonsense to themselves.

God the oatmeal cinnamon frosted upside-down cookie was the greatest Girl Scout cookie of ALL time. I miss that cookie so much.

It probably tastes better than vegemite.

Swoop1809: Can't wait to stock my freezer full of Thin Mints for the impending thin mint chocolate milkshakes

Dollar General sells a store brand thin mint type cookie that is actually pretty damn good. I prefer those over the real thing.

2013-01-12 09:34:53 PM
Step 1: use mushroom concentrate instead of mango concentrate
Step 2: ?
Step 3: vomit

2013-01-12 09:36:02 PM
That one wasn't on the order sheet I got today.

1 Thin Mint, 1 Tagalong, 2 Samoas.

2013-01-12 09:36:10 PM
It's been 15 years already since they were any good. Have a read on the ingredients of 'normal' cookies. Those are not the same beasts as our childhood.

2013-01-12 09:38:15 PM
Didn't even see Mango Cremes on the list the local cookie peddler had. Sounds like good thing I didn't!

2013-01-12 09:39:43 PM
Did the article actually mention the TASTE of the cookie? It sounds like TFA biatched about the name and the ingredients, but I didn't see anything about the flavor (aside from complaining about mango in general). I may have missed it, however...

2013-01-12 09:40:11 PM
Everyone raves on the thin mints, but give me those peanut butter ones!

2013-01-12 09:42:06 PM
OK - I'm not going to weigh in on my favorite, but this part killed me:

So, from now through March, if any young girls attempt to sell you "Mango Crèmes with NutriFusion™," try stoking the campfire of promise that burns like an inferno behind their coal black eyes with a little piece of tinder called "Real Talk."

I mean, that's not bad, is it? I LOL'd.

THIS. The article was written by a pretentious idiot.

That said, I really dislike 'NutriFushion' being in a cookie name. It's a GS cookie. It's not  supposed to be good for you.

This is only if your GS council uses ABC Bakers (they also Lemonades & Thanks A Lots). Little Brownie Bakers has Dulce de Leche, Savannah Smiles & Thank You Berry Munch as their alternate cookies. Both bakeries have to offer Thin Mints, Carmel DeLites/Samoas, Shortbread/Trefoils, PB Patties/Tagalongs, & PB Sandwich/Do-si-dos.

Thin Mints straight out of the freezer are the food of the gods. Samoas are a close second though.

Get these instead of thin mints.
www.meijer.com

Most supermarkets around here have them...heck if I can find them in 'bama you shouldn't have a problem.

There's a Dollar Store option too for thin mints. What they lose in taste they make up for in Dollar prices and year round availability. In fact they're probably a more closer to GS thin mint than the high end one in taste. The high end one has a very good chocolate coating..which might not be comforting when you like the GS brand.

The word "mushroom" should not be anywhere on a cookie package or list of ingredients for a cookie recipe...EVER.

The word "NutriFusion" terrifies me.

Tagalongs ftw. The thin mints don't taste the same as they used to.

2013-01-12 09:55:47 PM
"Nutrifusion"??

F*ck that! Gimme 2 Thin Mints sandwiching Nutella! That there is a f*cking cookie!

It does sort of sound like an original Iron Chef challenge. Like when they baked cupcakes with duck liver, etc.

In Canada, girl scout cookies come in two colors: black and white.
Living in perfect harmony. Oh Lord, why can't we?

I once told a couple girl scouts at a store that the only way I'd buy them is if they were made with real girl scouts. Their father chased me to my car. I guess he had no sense of humor. Dick.

My daughter is a scout, your patronage is greatly appreciated.

As for the knockoff brands, I understand the cost savings, but the troop selling the cookies gets 1/4 of the price (so $1.00 per box), which they then use for troop activities.

Again, thank you for your support, the girls greatly appreciate it.

Girl Scout cookies taste nothing like Girl Scout

WhyKnot: the troop selling the cookies gets 1/4 of the price (so $1.00 per box),

So exactly where does the other 3 bucks go? I mean why shouldn't I just give ALL of the money directly to the local troop?
