BalugaJoe: what happened to the fat kid?

Last I saw he was in the military and getting friendzoned by some short-haired blonde chick trying wayyyy too hard to sound as Southern as possible.

I haven't even watched an episode. It is like one of those things in the background you never really notice until someone points it out to you.

2013-01-12 05:17:42 PM
...so the kid is, if he joined the military, at least 18-- when does he stop being the "half"? (Or was he ever the half?)

2013-01-12 05:18:45 PM
Personally, I have enjoyed the show.

Not two worried one way or the other if they bring it back though.

I'm pretty sure the little porker counted as a full man the whole time. The Half is the skinny dingus dad.

Yeah, 11 seasons doesn't mean that it's been on for 11 years anymore. Nowadays they count what we'd call half seasons in the past as a whole season. It originally aired its pilot back in Sept. 2003, so it's not even 10 quite yet.

/still 9 years too long IMO though

Always liked the show.
But when the kid, Jake, grew to be a smart-ass teenger he stopped being cute. They should have thought about finding a way to kill it then.
Sheen was good. Ashton sucks.
Now its just stupid and way past its time.

IRL, he got religion and denounced the show.

I think that Chuck Lorre made his point to Charlie Sheen and should move on. The show is goimng nowhere fast story-wise.

If charlie sheen didn't lose his shiat like he did, this show would've ended back in 2009

That's not the case with this show, though. They've done basically all full-length seasons (except for the couple of years when Charlie Sheen was having his meltdown). This is their 10th season and 10th year. After next season (their 11th), they will have been around for 11 years.

Kind of like South Park where their number of seasons doesnt match the number of years its been on.

I'm pretty sure the Alan character is only half a man by this point.

They just need to finally the show by burning the house down.

I tried to watch it once on an airplane.  Worst 30 second of my life.

So are we renaming the Entertainment Tab to the Two And A Half Men Tab, or are the modmins killing time until another Kardashian link comes in?

2013-01-12 10:28:53 PM
I wish they'd finished the show with Alan finding out that Jake was Charlies son, suing Judith for all the back child support she owed him for lying, getting Charlies house because Judith sued Charlie for the back child support he now owed her and did a swap deal where Alan gets it in exchange for dropping the suit, the end would be Charlie begging Alan to stay in his house.
Alan looks at him and lets him stay in the end but Charlie now has to look after his new idiot son and Alan and Molly Ringwald ride off into the sunset.

What point? "I can fire you, hire a douche hipster, watch the ratings tank, and then eventually shut it down as half the crew is arguing with the other half of the crew, even as you go get a 90-episode deal?" Nah, I think Chuck Lorre wanted to make a point, and failed.

Math fail.

First season started in 2003 so it ended in 2004, count up to 2014 because that's when the season this renewal for will end and you get ELEVEN.

That was Miley Cyrus, so that's probably her real accent. *shudder*

They need to have the kid die from drinking Koolaid in some cult.

Season 8 (the last season with Sheen) averaged 12.73 million viewers an episode. Season 9 and 10 averaged 14.64 and 14.88 million. Sheen's meltdown actually probably gave the show new life by bring in Kutcher.

//Not defending the quality, but to say the show tanked after Sheen left is wrong.

Meh - I'm not a fan. Still, I don't think Sheen lies awake at night, burning with angst over the situation.

Oh I agree. No matter what you say about Charlie, he's a shrewd businessman. The payout he got from CBS, then the FX deal, which is probably the worst deal anything related to Fox has done since the original Star Wars deal with Lucas.

Show's alright except for the fact that Jon Cryer is the unfunniest actor ever.

I'm a Two and a Half men fan, but I think the show started going downhill around the 4th or 5th season. Maybe it got old watching a bunch of shiatty people be shiatty, but it was fun for a while.

\Berta is, and has always been, the funniest character on the show, hands down.

Soooooo you basically decided to add in the extra year that hasn't even happened yet to get up to that number. Do you often say you're a year older than you are despite the fact that your next birthday hasn't come around yet? Headline said the show has been around for 11 years, not "will be around".
