"We needed to make some adjustments there so we could remain a viable and competitive team financially move to LA, but also find a way to fill as many seats as we can before we get our new stadium in LA," Chargers spokesman Bill Johnston told me. "Obviously, it's never a good time to be a Charger fan."

This.

Qualcomm is an old stadium, but I won't miss you if you leave.

Price hikes come and go, don't like it - don't buy it.

I renewed my Chiefs tickets and the price stayed the same (lower level, 25 yard line $100 each/game).

However they didn't provide a free custom jersey like they did last year...

This is my general thought on all things that aren't necessities.

It sucks to be sure, and one caveat is that with something like season tickets, you may not be guaranteed anything comparable or anything at all if you decide to come back.

Everyone has their cost-benefit breaking point and it's just one of those things you gotta weigh.

Coming from a Bears fan -

As long as there are people willing to bash their home team, there will be people willing to buy tickets.

/that's all they do at the game
//actually have heard people calling for the following players to be traded/released: Brandon Marshall, Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs, Tim Jennings, Matt Forte, Julius Peppers, Henry Melton

i haven't been there since probably 1991; how's old Jack Murphy holding up these days?

When Phoenix didn't have an MLB team, it was a Big farking Deal to catch an honest to god MLB game, and we used to go there every summer.  "Wow!  a real life MLB game!"  Spent many a day there.  I remember seeign Daryl Strawberry take a ball to deep center right, one of those "the moment you saw the trajectory, you knew it was 3 bags and a plate" shots and about 30,000 people go "ohhhhhh......"

The kind of people who will pay the price teams ask probably won't care anyway.

Last time I went was 2005 for an Aztecs game and it was not in great shape.

I'm a Steelers fan from birth but I always kind of liked San Diego (if they weren't playing Pittsburgh)... But once they fired Marty for going 14-2 I've enjoyed every moment of failure they've been able to put together. Riversface is downright hilarious too.

And who in their right mind would have thought that Norv Turner would be an improvement to Marty. There's only a few coaches in the league over the last 10 years better than Marty was.

Huh... The same people who run the Mariners run the Chargers?

Whodathunkit?

I wonder with the new owner what the seat prices for the Browns will be. Last year they had some really cheap season tickets
/because they suck

The Stadium or the Man? Actually... it doesn't matter. Same answer for either one.

Smelly... rotten and coming apart.

Wow, first thing the new GM does is raise prices? That's the way to make everyone forget about AJ Smith!

I'm pretty certain a carrot would do a better job than AJ Smith. It's one thing to not re-sign VJax in part because they needed to spend money to upgrade their offensive line. It's another thing entirely to give...Jared Gaither??...a 4yr/$25mil extension.

Telesco had nothing to do with it.

On the plus side, prices on all the crap seats went down!

Meh, for all the whining and belly-aching, people will still line up to buy tickets and they'll still pay $9 for their cup of beer.

Been to a Charger game recently. People line up to buy tickets when they play a popular team... if not... not so much.

I did not realize that. It's hard to believe that teams like Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, Kansas City, Arizona, St. Louis, and, well, Washington, have all won their respective divisions during that time.

Also, Miami is the only team other than New England to win the AFC East in the last ten seasons, and that was the season that Brady played half a quarter.

"...and prevent a recurrence of the four TV blackouts that were caused by poor ticket sales in 20012."

Pretty sure by then they will be the San Andreas Charging Urrrs of Golden State Presented by Pepsi in Association with Zombie Senator Dianne Feinstein and the Morgan Stanley Carbon Trading Division.

Buffalo has yet to see the playoffs this millennium :(

To put that in perspective.

The length of time buffalo has gone since last
Making the playoffs is equal to or may even exceed at this point the entire time duke nukem forever has been in devopment

Yeah, but Chargers fans had to put up with Ryan Leaf. And the Browns just won a playoff game today. And the Raiders are the Raiders, their fans crying makes America better.

But, yeah... The Bills. And worst of all, they'll probably be great once they move to Toronto or LA after Ralph Wilson dies.

Marty was a great regular season coach but got way conservative in the playoffs. As a Bronco fan I'm really glad because we benefitted greatly from it but I'd be pissed if he were my teams coach.

I've wanted to go to a game for years (haven't been since '94) and I just can't swallow the idea of spending $200-300 for a game. I can see the padres stink it up several times for that price.

I'm Detroit there are people who want to get rid of Matt Stafford, Nick Farley, Suh, and even Calvin Johnson (too many drops, not enough TDs).

Nobody is obligated to buy tickets to NFL events. If it costs more than it is worth to you, don't go.
