Incredible feet. I hear Notre Dame is looking for tacklers though.

Little bit of luck involved there but major kudos for keeping after it goal keeper. Hopefully you got a little something special for that one.

What's the standard for a goal? If it's breaking the plane of the line like in football, that first shot sure looked like it got in. If it needs to go all the way across, then great save.

That'll teach him to not play so far outside the box, otherwise he wouldn't have needed to make those saves.

Has to be all the way across.

Incredible saves, but like Skinink said, he never should have been in that position in the first place.

Great recovery from being WAYYYYYY out of position. Striker should have stroked that instead of pussy-footing it on the first "shot."

It needs to be fully clear of the line, inside the goal, to be "over the line".

He's big, he's tall, he's a motherfarking wall, Kasey Keller!

Too bad that grass-diving crybaby pissy ruined an otherwise cool video by writhing around on the ground after he farked up a perfectly good chance to score. Twice.

His team was a goal down with five minutes to go, so he was playing up. It's the equivalent of a hockey team pulling its goalie for another attacker in the closing minutes.

and the striker falls down and pretends to be injured, as is standard after a failed scoring attempt inside the 18

The amount of prissy actors in soccer is incredible. Why the hell would any coach want a team full of whiny diving tards like that?

Hockey does it right. If you stop play when you fall down and you ain't hurt, you get a diving penalty. Plus your own teammates will probably kick your ass in the locker room after the game.

I don't think the rule is as clear as some make it out to be.  The shot pictured below, after all, was not a goal.  It turns out that if the keeper is wearing a green shirt, then it's deemed confusing somehow, and the ball must cross the goal line by at least four ball widths. And, the label on the ball must be visible. Otherwise, no goal.

Agreed. As far as soccer goes, women tend to spend less time on their backs biatching about the other players.

It's why I only watch World Cup level soccer if it's the Women's teams. People can pretend like the ladies versions of sports suck, but Women's soccer is awesome. They hustle like crazy, tend to work together, and best of all THEY DON'T DIVE. It's almost like some kind of team sport when they're playing it, instead of a practiced ballet of flops.

Marta and other Brasilians dive, actually. Most of the rest of the world doesn't in womens soccer though.

Out of position.
Two terrible finishes.
Meh.

I have to agree. If you come to a ball like that as a keeper you must get it. So fail from the keeper and it was only the incompetence of the striker who wanted to stroke the ball over the line rather than hit it that saved him.

That thing that his teammate is seen doing at about 0:30 in the replay... that can't be legal, can it?

*googles "hooking"*

Yeah. See, I do know a thing or two about hockey.

This. As much as I like women's soccer for the reasons previously mentioned, I have to admit the Brasilian team dives just as much as their male counterparts, and it's shameful.

That's alright. Let'em dive. It's not like it's won them any World Cups so far. The same can't be said for Men's Grass-diving.
