That is my favorite performance of his, ever

My guess was boy. I'll bet if I had another 30 seconds I would have got it.

Holy crap, I actually guessed it.

2013-01-12 10:30:15 AM

Quantum Apostrophe: Y
O
U

This was my guess too. I at least would have asked for Y and O as 2 of my 4 letter choices, because you could always just blurt out MOM or DAD as guesses since a bad guess doesn't end the bonus round (unless they changed the rules since I last watched)

My favorite Wheel clip is where the armed forces guy misses the puzzle, after ALL of the letters were flipped.

I don't get it, who is "guy" ? what kind of stupid puzzle is this?

2013-01-12 11:52:43 AM
Solving the puzzle with no letters is just about the only real challenge left on this show. It's much easier with categories like On the Map since it severely limits what can be in the puzzle. Correctly solved Fargo North Dakota and Providence Rhode Island with no letters that way. Jeopardy! is the same way with Final. Watching it enough you get to the point where you can correctly guess the questions just based on category alone before seeing the answers.

2013-01-12 12:10:13 PM
If you think about it, there's actually not a lot of reasonable options to choose from given the category. I guessed man and boy, but I can also see someone guessing 'guy.'

Why does everybody stand there pretending like they're thinking super hard to apply their secret strategy to come up with CDMA like 98% of every other contestent?

Why don't we practice extra-judicial killings for people who watch that stupid show enough to cite probabilities for letter selection?

It's pronounced "GEE"

2013-01-12 02:24:04 PM
There have been some pretty shiatty judgement calls on WoF over the years, sometimes people lost just because they pronounced words with regional dialects/accents, or they give proper names that, for the most part, people with those names (their families at least) just make up the pronunciation in the first place..

A death sentence for watching Wheel of Fortune like five times over the last decade? Well, I think that's a little harsh, but if that's what everybody wants who am I to argue? Send the mobile execution unit on by, I guess.

Damn you, Pat Sajak! I always knew your zany banter would be my undoing but I just couldn't turn away.

Nem Wan: Too bad he didn't win the fighter jet.

Yeah, what was up with that, exactly? Obviously they weren't going to give him even a decommissioned jet, since it would be worth probably over $10 million, so what was the real prize there?

And what a shiatty clue/puzzle. Even though some people here said that was their first guess, I bet nobody here can blame him for not figuring it out. I'd have walked off the set...

One my favorite Pat moment is his momentary stare and curt "no" after this puzzle:

Swimming Along A Honolulu Local Reef

The no just carries a huge "DUMBASS" behind it.
