Newt must have had a multi-gasm when he heard about this.
Just the loop-hole America needed to arm children.

Well, a janitor without arms really isn't good for much, is he?

/what?

I was poor in high school so I worked as the janitor's assistant after school to earn extra money.  Giving that man a gun to carry around would be tantamount to handing a grenade to a monkey with Down's Syndrome.  He was petty and vindictive, he would keep girls panties he found in gym lockers, and he once told me he took care of his girlfriend's baby "by punching it out of her" because they couldn't afford an abortion.

My gym teacher used to masturbate in the bathroom stalls in the locker room, and I would still feel more comfortable with him having a gun rather than the janitor.  School janitor jobs do not usually attract quality people.

So gunmen will shoot the janitors first now?

2013-01-12 04:01:20 AM
Can anyone explain how a school janitor, i.e. a sanitation engineer, could possibly be trained well enough to deal with a school shooting? These guys have a hard enough time cleaning the bathrooms well enough that the students are willing to use them.

It would be an excellent business decision to start advertising Bentleys, Gulfstream G5s and Private Island purchase opportunities in the Ohio Bar Association newsletter.

Did you not see The Breakfast Club? If a custodian had been involved Ferris Bueller would never have had a day off, even if(My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night) . , Oh and don't get me started on what a custodian could have done with that Marty McFly kid .Sue Ellen Crandell, she shouldn't be babysitting anyone.  Tre Styles, pssh, he'd be checkin' his locker and Kathryn Merteuil would be making sure that  Cecile Caldwell had her stuff tucked in.Kate and John Tucker would have to stay on opposite sides of the hall, and needless to say if Filch were a reasonable custodian he would have controlled Harry,Ron and Hermoine .A good custodian would have kept Scott and Ramona Flowers away from each other and we won't even discuss Charlie and Sam, because they are just wallflowers anyway.

So see, a good custodian stops teen angst if nothing else.

So now that janitors are expected to put their lives on the line in defense of the school, they'll get paid more than the principle and vice-principle, right?

What's next, distributing condoms to the teachers?

I guess they will have to start arming the shop teachers with full auto Horse-Head bookends other wise a terrorist could take out the whole class.

That's the plan. This exposes the shooter who then receives return fire from shop teacher.

Why give condoms to the middle man. We need to put condoms at the source. In the fish and chips. That's where it's going to work. At the source.

Jerry: I'll tell you what they should do, they should combine the two jobs, make it one job, make it cop/garbage man, I always see a cop walking around with nothing to do, grab a broom, start sweeping, you sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, catch a criminal get right back to sweeping.

If you want to have armed men in schools they should be very highly trained and held to the highest standards.

I don't think a janitor should be your choice.

This. I don't think I'll ever understand the fascination with introducing firearms into places like schools and airplanes which are otherwise sterile environments 99.9999% of the time.

Do they get paid extra to put out a fire with a hand held extinguisher?
There are things we expect people to do as good citizens even if its not in their job description.

Part of the argument for limiting gun magazines is the idea that bystanders can dogpile on the shooter during the half second he's reloading.
Here we'd be saying that lowly janitors and teachers are perfectly qualified to take a bullet for no additional pay,.. but not qualified enough to have a fighting chance with their own weapons?

/If not a two hundred dollar gun, at least issue some of those five thousand dollar body armor kits.
/or hire a guard for thirty grand a year.
/The politicians are busy trying to "do something" about the people who obey gun laws. They could care less about school security.

Nope, my kids are good, doors locked and safety glass. It'd take a mortar or an M1 to get in there between when I drop them off and pick them up.

The janitors run my wife's school, so this sounds about right.

Seriously, you don't know how many projects have gone belly-up because the janitors aren't on board with the idea.
