This. As long as his administration has a little fun every now and again, a lot of people seem to be willing to give it a nice set of passes.

He only really got energized in any meaningful way to push the health care act and now more gun control.

Where was this Obama last term to push closing Guantanamo, stop warrant less wiretapping, become more transparent, curb the excesses of the Patriot Act, leave medical marijuana clinics alone or any of the other things alluded to or outright promised during his 2008 campaign?

I don't recall him demanding action, setting deadlines, convening blue ribbon panels, shedding any crocodile tears, or putting out any bullshiat staged photos of him being really sad over dozens of people effectively interned at Guantanamo for years without trial.

I doubt he sheds any tears for all the innocent people killed by his administration's use of drones or all the people who die in the drug war related violence that his administration happily continues.

He's a self-centered celebrity and a craven, opportunistic piece of shiat.

The NX Class?

No one wants to remember Enterprise!

No, better they start on the Daedalus class. It doesn't have the stink of Enterprise on it, and it looks kind of cool...

You have an interestingly broad interpretation of the activities and responsibilities of the Chief of the Science and Space Branch at the White House Office of Management and Budget. Last I checked he didn't have a whole lot to do with prisoner treatment standards or detention allocations, but maybe you know something I do not.

Not that guy. Obama. The original comment was directed at the 'coolness' of the obama administration.

So in fairness, some of the people in his administration are apparently funny, smart, cool people, but he (Obama) is a piece of shiat.

I agree, I think we need to make it 'cool' to be smart. There's a very dangerous antiintellectual attitude in this country, and i'm not quite sure where it comes from. We also need to be creating girl engineers and scientists at a faster rate. we're really failing at getting women into science, probably because it's really hard to have a child and be a grad student simultaneously. we need to figure this one out people, it's important.

If you pull the president's dick out of your mouth and reread what I wrote, you'll see that I directed my attention at Obama and things he does and does not do.

Congress does not set his priorities, nor does it force to him to demand deadlines from Congress. Obama seems to be very light on calling for any action on the things that were so important during his 2008 campaign and THAT is why I posted what I did.

If you want to pretend that he's just this great guy who just can't do all the great things he wanted to because of Congress, fine. Just make sure to wipe your chin when he's done.

It's no different then the last administration and people's hate for it.

I think Obama is trying very hard to see if he can steal title of worst president from GWB Jr.

It's a marketing piece. The administration comes up with this bs way to make people think the executive branch is actually listening or concerned with their feelings, but pays insulting lip service to proposals like ending the war on drugs or legalizing marijuana.

It does seem like an unnecessary effort, but probably costs next nothing. All that said, I thought it was funny.

The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.

When I read that three hours ago, I started laughing so hard that six of my ribs broke. I just now stopped laughing long enough to type this. Obama would love to increase the deficit by 850 quadrillion dollars. Or more if he thought he could get away with it.

The President couldn't get Congress to pay for the closing of Gitmo and relocation of the detainees there when his party controlled everything. Do you really think that a Republican-led House would consider a deadline for the closure of Gitmo for longer than it takes to laugh at it and then tell the President to suck a duck? Don't you think that fighting for the closure of Gitmo would be a distraction from fights that he could win?

Any contractor working on that Death Star knows the risk involved. If they get killed, it is their own fault.

All those innocent contractors brought in to do the job were killed - casualties of a war they had nothing to do with. All right, look: you're a roofer, some juicy government contract comes your way. You got a wife and kids, the two-story in suburbia. This is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. Along come these left-wing militants that blast everything within a three-mile radius with their lasers. You didn't ask for that. You have no personal politics. Yes, but by the Benghazi engagement rules not only is Obama responsible for the response, he is responsible for compromising our interplanetary security and participating in the massive cover-up thereof.
