That's right. If I was caught with crack I'd say "Hells yeah dats my crack. I's be takin my whip up to da hood and I funna smoke dat shiat wif my homeys." but I'm not a crackhead. I definitely wouldn't tell the cops I intended to deal the crack.

As far as I know, you can't do rehab/classes if you admit to being a dealer.

But he can change his mind later n say he didn't mean it cuz he was high.

But ya, intent to sell is worse than possession.

The most important lesson to learn if you're carrying drugs - if you get stopped by the cops, wipe your fingerprints off the outside of the container, drop it on the floor and kick it under the seat. If the cops find it, deny ownership no matter what the cops say. Don't try to make the story to elaborate - just say "I don't know who put that there, but it isn't mine." The cops play a lot of games to try to get you to admit that it's yours, but don't ever fall for it. If it goes to court, a decent defense attorney will argue that the client left plenty of opportunities for other people to enter the car and the drugs might belong to any number of people. More often than not, the defendant will slide because of the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard.

Heard this from a defense attorney. He also said your appearance (including race) will also be a strong factor to most juries. No, I've never had this happen to me - never been to criminal court in my life.
