I wouldn't do that. Do you really want to piss this guy off? He may look a bit silly, but he's got some serious tech that'll put the hurt on.

If the search for Stargate is anything like the movie, it's going to be slow as fark yet still enjoyable.

"Search for Stargate is ongoing"

That's just what they want you to think.

I always thought the Stargate movie has been unfairly maligned ever since the tv show came out. I've always really liked it. And 'Ra' was a farking badass in it - especially his voice.

Damn it, now I want to watch it again.

If you liked Ra in Stargate, you should watch The Crying Game.  ;)

And I've always liked the film, far, FAR more than the series, which I could never get into.

I think anyone who bought a DVD player between 1995 and 2000 got a free copy of that movie.

Well they better hurry up, James Spader isn't getting any younger.

Love that movie, never watched the series.

Egyptian civilization is more like 5,000 years old. The Great pyramid at Giza is about 4,500 years old.

Heh. Internet fist-bump.

You do realize that 3000 years ago is about 1000 BCE, which is usually about the cutoff to end the ancient period in Egypt, right? This is like crowing over having a recording of the Stones performing Satisfaction live - from the last "totes for reals, this is our last concert tour, we mean it this time, seriously" tour

Or Stewart Brand's "The Last - No Shiat - Really, the Last Whole Earth Catalog."

I wish I could watch SG-1 again but farking Netflix took them out of the catalog awhile back. If Redbox Instant gets stuff like SG-1 and Atlantis, I'm jumping ship.

The series is much superior, once they developed their own story instead of returning to the events that happened in the movie (watching Season 1 right now).

JTV has a channel that plays both nearly 24/7.

OH GOD IT'S TRUE!

The only Stargate left is the the DTDVD Movies and Total Drama Spaceship. :(

I only saw the movie once, but I remember thinking how AWESOME it was..... up until the military Derp started happening. Totally wrecked what could have been a great movie.

This. For the first half of season 1 it was in serious danger of slipping into "backlot of the week" syndrome, where the team visits some planet that is stuck in some historical Earth genre, worshiping false deities of that particular place and time, and hilarity ensues.

And then slowly, the series started to build some momentum. It started to gather some backstory of its own, flesh out the characters in ways that allowed them to grow with their experiences, develop extended story arcs...

Better hurry up with that Stargate... we just had a close encounter with Apophis.

Wait, "Fargate"...

Agreed. I never cared for SG1, though I was a big fan of the spin-offs.

Even Egyptians find him insufferable.
