The same faces as in the first experiment were seen as the most trustworthy, even though they now had blue eyes. That means that it's not the eye color itself, but something about the face shape that engenders trust

So, not really.

They are saying that brown eyed guys are more trusty worthy. They think it's not due to the brownness (rather linked traits) but it's still brown eyed guys. So, yeah really. The headlines is consistent with the article.

Because the blue-eyed mutation was spread by rape and fire from the far north, where a breed of men had become stronger, faster, smarter than ever before, and they conquered lesser peoples and drove them like cattle and spread their superior genome, improving the lower races but not the master race of the men with eyes like the sky.

Since that day, the fear and inherent submission all humans experience when looking into a pair of blue eyes is a natural reaction. We are far more likely to trust those on our own level, with the same characteristics and coloring that mark us as their natural prey. Its even the case with animals- which animals have brown eyes? Deer. Cows. Dogs. Sheep.

Think it over. You'll see that I'm right.

No, they're saying that face shape X is seen as more trustworthy than face shape Y. The fact that face shape X occurs more often in people that happen to also have brown eyes does NOT mean brown-eyed guys are seen as more trustworthy than those with blue eyes. The fact that you can change their eye color and still get the same response shows quite specifically that it has nothing to do with eye color. Let's say that the "trustworthy" face shape also most frequently occurred among people that had a long second toe. Based on your premise, I could claim that people with along second toe are seen as more trustworthy. It would matter that no one in the experiment ever had their shoes off. The coincidental occurrence of those two factors would suddenly mean that toe length was correlated with trustworthiness.

Songwriters: MORRISON, VAN

Hey, where did we go
Days when the rains came?
Down in the hollow
Playing a new game,
Laughing and a-running, hey, hey,
Skipping and a-jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our, our hearts a-thumping
And you, my brown-eyed girl,

You, my brown-eyed girl.
Whatever happened
To tuesday and so slow
Going down to the old mine with a
Transistor radio.
Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hidin' behind a rainbowed wall,
Slipping and a-sliding
All along the waterfall
With you, my brown-eyed girl,
You, my brown-eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Just like that
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
La dee dah.

So hard to find my way
Now that I'm all on my own.
I saw you just the other day,
My, how you have grown!
Cast my memory back there, Lord,
Sometime I'm overcome thinking about
Making love in the green grass
Behind the ASTRODOME
With you, my brown-eyed girl,
You, my brown-eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Laying in the green grass
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee
Sha la la la la la la la la la la la la
Dee dah la dee dah la dee dah la

Yes, that's exactly right. Read what you typed and then say, "New study reveals that people with long second toes are seen as more trustworthy". The two are consistent.

They head line doesn't say that "brown eyes make you look trustworthy". It says that people have trait A (brown eyes) are also likely to have trait B (Things that make you look trustworthy). It doesn't claim that it's the brown eyes that make them look trustworthy. It describes a link between traits. It's a perfectly good headline.

I read the article and the link to the face shape one. Basically it says people don't trust big headed people. That matches up pretty well with many experiences I've had. Also explains why I find some skinny guys so hot compared to athletic guys.
