As a Redskins fan, I love the RGIII non-stop media blitz.

The fact that everyone involved has such a positive outlook on his full recovery makes me excited for next season too.

RGIII is pretty good, in a way that Tim Tebow isn't. But you know who else is pretty good? Tony Romo. Much better than Mark Sanchez. Sanchez is no Jay Cutler, that's for sure.

You can't buy that sort of fan support.

I only lived in DC until 1979, and I was 12 when I moved then to San Jose. Over time, the SF Giants replaced the Orioles, the SJ Sharks replaced the Capitals, the Warriors replaced the Bullets. But there is no way in heck the Redskins are ever going to be replaced by anyone, in this fan's pantheon of sports teams.

In 1999 I was bicycling down the coast, from canada to SF, and on an extremely cold rainy day in late Fall, I slid and fell off the road into a deep puddle. Freezing, and drenched, I managed to pedal to a small rural shop... I needed a dry tshirt, and all they had were cheap Dallas Cowboy tshirts.

I decided to just stay freezing and soaked for another 20 miles, rather than put on a cowboys tshirt, even inside-out.

So yeah, we might have retard-level optimism, but it is awesome.

Go submit stuff. The modmins would probably be happy to see other stuff, as long as it's interesting. I got a Texans/Pats greenlight, and an Eagles greenlight the other day.

This is what people actually believe, and it's laughable.

Number of people that would have criticized anyone if you had DR. JAMES ANDREWS declare that RGIII had incurred further damage to the knee and had ordered him to sit out: 0. It would've been viewed as an unfortunate break, but good on the team for protecting their franchise player.

But hey, it's not like you had the nation/world's foremost expert in knee health and surgery on your sideline or anything to basically guarantee you're bulletproof.

But that is just it, with Strasburg they had experts that agreed with Rizzo, they had announced it MONTHS ahead of time, they were following through with a clearly laid plan, and then when the Nats made the playoffs, it became WHAR STRABURG WHAR, and when we eventually lost, a large number of people blamed just that.

So if you think people wouldn't be hemming and hawing just because the celebrity knee Dr. du jour was in agreement, I've got a bridge to sell ya.

And for the record, I am not defending Shanahan, I wish they HAD sat RGIII at the half in hindsight. I had knots in my stomach about how he was playing when watching it live pre-injury. You could tell OBVIOUSLY on his rollout/bootleg to the left when we was limping on an actual play. Not limping back to the huddle, or limping on the sideline, and then powering through it when it goes live, but limping while running with the football.

I would have been nervous with Cousins on the field too, but honestly I thought he proved himself this year, for finishing out the Ravens as much for the entire game he had against the Browns. If they had an entire halftime to gameplan with him and prepare, I would be confidant with the ball in his hands. And I felt that way watching it live too.

It is a little weird to me how RGIII is bigger than the Redskins themselves right now. There was virtually no other game analysis outside of the RGIII injury. Granted, that storyline is HUGE and is about serious real-life impact to a person who is beloved pretty much universally it seems so far.

It was an issue for maybe a week afterwards and now people are ultimately okay with it. Of course, Strasburg wasn't even injured, so that was why people had the problem with it.

This will be an issue into next season and potentially for the rest of his career.

The equivalent of what Shanahan did was to watch Strasburg get, say, a 6-0 lead in the first two innings, then stick with him as he visibly grimaced with arm pain and the opposing team climbed to within 6-5. Then they kept trying to ride him to a complete game because "he's their best pitcher."

I thought this was an interesting look at it. Also compares RGIII staying in to Schilling pitching in the playoffs with his tendon sutured to his ankle skin. Of course the important distinction was made that for one of them it was very near the end of their career, and for the other it was the very beginning.
