After the NASA thread a couple of days ago I went back and watched Failure is Not an Option for the umpteenth time. What struck me about this video was how effortlessly she moved about...Gene Cernan's EVA on Gemini 9 was a successful failure but paved the way for new training procedures.

That was really cool.  I think that was the best "tour" video I've seen of the ISS.

Isn't Chris Hadfield the current commander of the ISS?

"NASA announced in 2010 that Hadfield would become the first Canadian commander of the International Space Station, leading Expedition 35 after its launch on 19 December 2012.[9] He is now currently aboard the station after docking on 21 December."

I believe Hadfield will become the commander in two more months once the three veteran astronauts (that had already been up for three months when Hadfield arrived) head home and three more noobs arrive.

No kidding.  I guess I haven't paid too much attention to the ISS, but it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be.  More roomier than I imagined.

Thanks Subby!

Wasn't this ISS tour posted a month or two ago via Youtube?

Wow, does it really take two months to get a green light.

/submitted two months ago by Youtube.  Still awesome.

Ok, you know there has been some sexy time in at least one of those "sleep stations".

Who would pass up the opportunity to fark in zero gravity?

I don't know about that. Your bunkmates are sleeping all around you, so sexy time wouldn't be so sexy. Plus, almost all of these people are married.

I did hear a story about a female cosmonaut on board one of the Salyut stations that was determined to have the world's first "Space Baby". Don't know how true that story is, tho.

Video is a few months old. Williams returned to earth in November. Kevin Ford is the current commander. Hadfield, who arrived at the station in December, will assume command in March when Ford departs. They overlap the crews for a few months at a time.

On the ISS, everyone has 80's hair!

You know, I see you guys saying how roomy it looks, but I have to say that's a claustrophobic's nightmare right there.

/not helping the OCD either...things just jumbled all over the place...

I Thought it was a great video -- did anyone check out the stickers on the bathroom? Too funny.

I'm sure a quick jaunt outdoors will clear that anxiety right up.

In a memo read by Rumsfeld detailing how Guantanamo interrogators would induce stress in prisoners by forcing them to remain standing in one position for a maximum of four hours, Rumsfeld scrawled a handwritten note in the margin reading: "I stand for 8-10 hours a day. Why is standing [by prisoners] limited to four hours? D.R."

Between being an astronaut and playing tennis, she must stay rather busy.

I bet sex in zero g would be nifty. Fairly incredible. Is there any possible way for the common man to go into space?

Actually, astronauts on the ISS are usually forbidden from engaging in sexual activity as there's a concern of fluids getting "loose" and floating about the station.
