You don't really want to learn to speak Navi.

All she ever says is "Hey!  Listen!  Look out!" over and over.  It's a pretty useless language, really.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Unless it's Klingon, Esperanto, Welsh or any other made up language.

Technically, are not all languages "made up"?

My mom was bilingual (started learning English at 5), but when she raised my brother and I, she was one of those "Cuando en los Estados Unidos, habla Ingles" folks, so we never spoke Spanish at home.

Should be "when she raised my brother and me."

@subby: "langue seconde" doesn't mean what you think it does.

I've been fluent in four languages since childhood, does that mean I'll remain sharp four times as long ? I'm only asking because the week isn't over yet and I've already left my wallet at home twice, which has me worried.

Now Thai. There's a language that aches the ears.

Quite clearly as you think saying 'when she raised I...' is correct use.
When she raised me.
When she raised my brother and me.

It's not hard...

Ric Romero says blah blah

On the other hand, my wife has been working on her English since she came here in 1971 to learn how to speak American English.  She didn't speak very well when she came here (age 32) and has been trying ever since.  Yesterday, at the age of 74, she went out and bought a couple of English workbooks.  These are to keep her busy until the new semester starts at both the High School adult education and local community college English classes.  Am I proud of her?

YOU BET YOUR SWEET BIPPY!

You are welcome to speculate on my stance on "Official Language."
