Newspaper begins by referring to Super Trooper as a "decorated US Army veteran." But the article ends with his awards: Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Parachutist Badge. In other words the only decoration he's wearing is basically what one might expect for doing nothing other than complete your term of enlistment. Where is the CIB you earn by being under fire in a combat zone? Where is the combat award for heroism under fire? Where is the Purple Heart for being wounded in action? In other words, where is any evidence that the purse snatcher returned from Iraq untreated for a case of PTSD?

My guess is he didn't suffer from PTSD as much as suffered from MEU -- Making Excuses Up.

No he didn't learn to steal purses from his military time in Iraq. From his time in Iraq he learned to hate hinself and life from being ordered by a criminal president to fight an illegal war. Having to face danger, pain, destruction and death on a daily basis. Just so some rich f*ck can get even richer selling over-priced, questionable contracts for subpar service so we could hope to secure a unstable country and take their oil.

One of the reasons why we have criminals is because of family members of criminals making excuses because they don't want to admit that their precious loved one could possibly do something wrong.

When did seeing combat become a free pass for committing crimes? When did having PTSD become a blanket excuse for doing antisocial acts? And why are the ONLY people who seem to use this excuse ex-military veterans?

Seriously. Anyone who has been through a sufficiently severe trauma can have PTSD. Rape victims, plane crash survivors, post-Katrina casualties--they all could have PTSD as bad as anyone who saw combat in Iraq. Yet you'll never hear of anyone getting arrested for a crime blaming it on their post-traumatic stress caused by living through a horrible auto accident or a house fire that killed their entire family. Why do soldiers get to blame it on their awful past lives?

Bullshiat. He punched an elderly lady to steal her purse.

Throw the book at him, just like the army would if he was still serving.

/Army brat. My Dad would have had his balls, and then made sure he was prosecuted.
