That's horseshiat.  The UCMJ is a lot more strict than any set of laws you've ever had to live under, I've seen people serve time for bouncing a check or showing up to work late. I wont even go into what happens if you commit an actual crime.

No he didn't learn to steal purses from his military time in Iraq. From his time in Iraq he learned to hate hinself and life from being ordered by a criminal president to fight an illegal war. Having to face danger, pain, destruction and death on a daily basis. Just so some rich f*ck can get even richer selling over-priced, questionable contracts for subpar service so we could hope to secure a unstable country and take their oil.

The funny thing is that the government takes a young man and they teach him how to snatch purses, oh they teach you sooo many ways to snatch a purse. and they keep you practcin how to snatch purses all day and all evening until you can't think or even dream about anything but stealin purses. Then they send you over to steal and steal and steal until you can steal a purse without even thinking about it.... And then they drop you back off at your doorstep like nothin ever happened. But you know what man? they don't ever teach that boy how to stop snatchin purses.

Newspaper begins by referring to Super Trooper as a "decorated US Army veteran." But the article ends with his awards: Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Parachutist Badge. In other words the only decoration he's wearing is basically what one might expect for doing nothing other than complete your term of enlistment. Where is the CIB you earn by being under fire in a combat zone? Where is the combat award for heroism under fire? Where is the Purple Heart for being wounded in action? In other words, where is any evidence that the purse snatcher returned from Iraq untreated for a case of PTSD?

My guess is he didn't suffer from PTSD as much as suffered from MEU -- Making Excuses Up.
