NecoConeco: Oh, and I've blown up Megaton a couple of times.

I never thought about it til now, but Megaton represents the only time in both F3 & NV where you actually could kill a child (barring mods of course). Lucas Simms kid, Harden Simms, is nowhere to be found after triggering the bomb.

I only blew up Megaton once, after reloading an old save to check it out, and honestly felt pretty guilty afterward.

I've mini-nuked Tenpenny hundreds of times though.

Relatively Obscure: Oh, here's another random question:

Anyone else fight tooth and nail to keep Dogmeat alive through Fallout 1?

/That dog's the only NPC I will accept.
//You're cool and all, Fawkes, but no.  It's me and the pooch.

When I heard how hard it was to get Dogmeat through the military base, I went extremely slow and cautious through the whole game. Avoid groups of mutants whenever possible, keep a close eye on Dogmeat's health using the vague descriptions and not wasting stimpacks if I had my doubts, and even sacrified other NPCs to keep Dogmeat alive. And I did it, goddamnit. I kept my dog alive!

And then he got killed in the Cathedral. :(

Those super mutant things in the Cathedral by the stairs, I bet?.  They're a biatch.  If things don't go perfect, your poor mutt doesn't stand a chance.

I played FNV first and enjoyed the hell out of it. The missile launcher duel I got into with the super mutant sniper on Black Mountain while slowly being irradiated was one of the best fights I've ever been in.

Now I'm playing F03 and having a lot of trouble with money and ammo. In FNV at 8th level I had around 12000 caps and could splash around like a mad baller, as long as I went easy on the implants.

In F03, at 8th level, I just spent my last cap on ammo. I haven't found a reloading station and don't expect to. Half of the battle decisions I have to make now involve figuring how much damage I'm willing to take if I stick with the frag grenade/hunting rifle/ripper combo instead of spraying/praying with the minigun or chinese assault rifle. I'm still loving F03, but the difficulty seems higher than FNV.

Some types of ammo are rarer than others, but it won't be long before you have more than enough of each.  There is a place where you can trade in high-tech gadgets for more 5.56mm ammo, if that's your preferred type and you're really running low.
