Bachmann....

2013-01-09 11:10:04 AM
Just another of the many small ways in which the Republican party says "F*ck you, America"

Afraid of a strong conservative woman?
Damn right.

Betz announced that the group was circulatinga petition to protest the decision, which they said would be hand-delivered to Boehner.

Why not ask FSM to intervene? There's as much chance of that happening as there is of Boehner giving a petition from PAW more than a billionth of a second of his attention.

2013-01-09 12:00:16 PM
At this point, I'm surprised that the GOP doesn't place a white supremacist as their race relations leader.

Probably should be upgraded to img.fark.com, absent an "oxymoron" tag.

May as well do it with style or in a way that's sure to get mentioned on the news.

Maybe have the person who delivers it dress up like Professor Genki.

Reward for officially casting a vote (albeit last minute) for Boehner for speaker.

Seriously? Michelle "Crazy Eyes" Bachmann?

She's nominated because that's where she can do the least damage?

What the hell?

2013-01-09 12:15:46 PM
She is very good at gathering intel, subby.

This. Sadly.

So? A lot of extremely competent people remain unemployed.

The GOP does not take the world seriously. The bubble they have lived in has collapsed and covers them like a oily film. I think it is in their brains, and caused the rot to form.

There must be disease at the roots of this type of madness, as no one on the planet should stoop so far as to call Michelle Bachmann intelligent and then trust her with national security.

2013-01-09 12:20:14 PM
Does the intelligence comittee really do anything?

2013-01-09 12:20:58 PM
I still contend that this is the GOP's way of shutting her up. She can't talk about anything the committee hears, that would be indiscreet at best and treasonous at worst. So, she can't put the stupid spin on anything. And, if she does say anything, she can be pushed to the sidelines. Still, there's plenty to derp on besides national secrets.

And for the MN 6, I humbly and whole-heatedly apologize.

2013-01-09 12:21:26 PM
She's just pissed that Turner and Overdrive won't let her back in the group.

Xythero: Does the intelligence comittee really do anything?

They employ morons, apparently. That's something.

2013-01-09 12:23:06 PM
And even she didn't vote "no" on the Sandy relief bill. That means that the Republicans who did are even more derpy than Michelle Bachmann!

//Hard to believe such a thing is possible.
//At least I don't recall seeing her name.

2013-01-09 12:23:07 PM
Congressional Intelligence? Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron?

2013-01-09 12:23:34 PM
Who else is going to protect us from the cabal of Muslim Brotherhood infiltrators that exists inside her mind?  Who better to lead the vanguard against paranoid delusions than the one who is paranoid delusioning?

Let's not forget, also an anti-vaxxer.

You say that, but how do you know it wasn't a vaccine that made HER retarded?

2013-01-09 12:26:42 PM
The only good thing about Bachmann is that she will almost certainly get the credit once gay marriage becomes legal in Minnesota.

For years, she championed an amendment to the Minnesota State Constitution to make gay marriage illegal. When the "Bachmann Amendment" finally came up for a vote in November, it was soundly defeated. And, based on the unambiguous rejection of Bachmann's homophobia by Minnesota voters, it's very likely that gay marriage will be approved by the legislature in Minnesota later this year.

So... hooray for Bachmann!

I think Bachmann's family vaccinates their children with prayers and snake-handling.

2013-01-09 12:39:39 PM
At least, that's what they're telling her.

2013-01-09 12:39:57 PM
I wouldn't go so far as to say Bachmann is afraid of gay people. She's been married to one for years.

2013-01-09 12:40:27 PM
Minnesota, we thought you were one of the cool states.. but every two years..

c'mon guys.

Can we rename it to the House Stupidity Committee?

Bachmann doesn't care. She'll just work on the next volume of "The Turner Diaries."

ah, yes. The Dems surely would have put someone intelligent in that seat.

havocmike: Minnesota, we thought you were one of the cool states.. but every two years..

c'mon guys.

Michelle Bachmann represents the second-ring suburbs North and East of the Twin Cities. And for the most part, she represents the less desirable suburbs, with poorer schools and lower property values.

So here's the deal -- if gas prices remain high, her district will remain a mostly undesirable place to live, and will continue to be filled primarily with old white people who are bitter about their declining property values, and Bachmann will continue to be elected for as long as she wants.

But if gas prices drop (or if property values in the inner ring suburbs increase substantially), you'll see a lot of younger people moving into Bachmann's district, and she'll be out on her ass in four to six years, when her district flips Democratic.

(And that's one of the dirty secrets of the math behind Gerrymandering -- in order to win the majority of Congressional districts with the minority of the votes, the Republicans had to pack a lot of Democratic voters into a tiny number Democratic districts with unassailable Democratic majorities, and spread out all the Republican voters into a lot of Republican districts with razor-thin Republican majorities. This may hurt them in a few years.)

havocmike: Minnesota, we thought you were one of the cool states.. but every two years..

Minnesota has basically quarantined all of their derp into her congressional district (thanks, gerrymandering!), but even so, she still was only reelected by barely more than one percent - 50.59% to 49.41%, a split of about 4200 votes, against a first-time candidate in Jim Graves who raised $2M to her $23M.

Also, but this bugs me every time, isn't it Michele "One-L" Bachmann?

Yeah, and I look like an idiot every time I get it wrong. Michele Bachmann made me stupid!

She needs to shut up and enjoy a corndog with her gay husband.

Bachmann's district contains the most historically conservative and racist areas of the state. St. Cloud has a terrible history in that regard. And every single person I have ever known who fell into right wing derperism ended up moving to Cambridge. It's the Innsmouth of Derpistan.

2013-01-09 01:18:05 PM
They can't dismiss her now. She's a crazy person.

Imagine her deciding to "get back" at her GOP masters by running her mouth about every little nasty bit of business discussed in that committee. Imagine her dumping her file folders onto Wikileaks. She's nutty enough to do so - I mean, she's nutty enough to campaign in front a huge poster of Dachau corpses, after all.

Friends close, enemies closer, and derpy morons glued to your side.

I'd wager dollars to donuts that they only get tossed harmless tidbits of "classified" info, just for a rubber stamp on funding requests from actual military and intelligence agencies.

Like the Air Force and CI- aw dammit. Hold on, somone is banging on my front door

With abject apologies to HPLHS...

It's beginning to look a lot like Bachmann
Everywhere I go;
From the minute I got to town
And started to look around
I thought these ill-bred people's tea bags showed.
I'm beginning to hear a lot from Bachmann
Right outside my door,
As I try to escape in fright
To the moonlit Innsmouth night
I can hear some more.

She speaks with guttural croaks and to hear her provokes
A profound desire to flee
Her eyes never blink and quite frankly she stinks
Like a carcass floating in some tea.

I wish I'd paid attention to that crazy drunken man.
He tried to warn me all about FreedomWorks' derpy plan.

It's beginning to look a lot like Bachmann
Everywhere I go;
They can dynamite her front teeth,
but that'll bring no relief,
That dumb biatch is louder than they know.
I'll continue to see a lot from Bachmann
That I guarantee.
For the derp that I really fear
is the one who's in the mirror
And she looks like me.
She looks just like me.

2013-01-09 01:29:45 PM
You know the GOP in the House is just trolling with us. Putting Bachmann in the House Intelligence Committee is not much different than Caligula putting his horse as a member of the senate.

Bachmann has been out of the MN Senate for over 6 years.  No one - even the batshiat crazies on the right - called last years amendment attempt the "Bachmann Amendment".

So Stillwater, White Bear Lake, North Oaks, are undesirable suburbs? Huh. That's a bit of a surprise. Why hasn't anybody told the real estate agents?
