Isn't the ball supposed to cushion against impact? Or did he break his neck by flipping around in there too much?

They were ejected.

Clark: "This is a new non-caloric silicon-based kitchen lubricant my company has been working on. It creats a surface 500 times more slippery than any cooking oil. Ahhh! We're really going to fly down the hill with this stuff."

Russ: "Has anyone ever used it on a sled?"

Clark: "Not that I know of, Russ."

That's the third version they've invented so far. They're on a roll.

1) Russian Roulette
2) Chatroulette
3) Zorb Roulette

I'm betting the skiers 'resuing' them just hauled them up without stabilizing their spines.

If one were to enter the words "zorb" and "accident" in youtube, one might find the video.

Not going to link it, but it isn't graphic. It just shows the ball go into a huge canyon waaaay off in the distance.

Yep. They were both able to stand, then one person died of spinal injury? I mean, I understand swelling and all that, but wouldn't the fact they were on a snowy mountain reduce swelling?

Anytime you put an object onto a ski slope that does not have the ability to turn or stop, you are just asking for trouble. I've seen tubers break bones and dislocate joints and heard of a few fatalities. Even on skis or snowboards on green runs people get killed if they don't know how to turn and stop. Gravity is not just a theory in my world!

Peter Gabriel used the Zorb in his UP tour of 2003.
Just saying.

Video of the incident (not a Rick Roll).

Dumbest. Way to die. Ever. Is it too soon to ask for this video to be set to "Yakety Sax"?
