So you're saying this will end badly after a few years...like really, disappointingly badly?

But, we get to move to a new planet and start bangin' the natives all because some pretty boy decides that cities are EVIL!

Hopefully not, the ending sucked so hard it made the whole show retroactively bad.

I'm glad I didn't hate the Battlestar finale so much it ruined the entire show for me. There are some badass episodes in that show. In fact the only part I remembering thinking was weird in the finale was the robot footage at the end. I sort of figured there wasn't gonna be a nice bowtie for all the threads they started with Starbuck, Hera, etc given how S4 had gone.

For me, BSG was about the journey not the destination. They could've revealed that Tigh was just Adama's long lost son in a rubber mask in the finale and it won't undo the episodes where BSG drops into New Caprica's atmosphere, or Starbuck breaks out of the human farm, or Baltar wins his trial. Worth rewatching for me.

There were bad episodes in every season, but seinfeld is my favorite show ever and the finale sucks, it doesn't make the whole show retroactively bad. Unless you watch earlier episodes just sitting there dwelling over what's going to happen at the end with the angels at all that or whatever you disliked the most, in which case I guess you're bringing it upon yourself. (note that I watched BSG after it had all aired, might've felt differently if i had watched it live)

That dancing robot montage at the end ruined the show for me for some time. I've only now started coming back to it again.

I watched it all as it aired, including those horrible long breaks they took.

/dancing robots... sheesh

I agree with you, a bad finale doesn't ruin a show. Seinfeld is a perfect example of that.

Having said that, I will never watch the final episodes of season 4 of BSG. I forget exactly the last episode I watched.

Maybe I'm a sap, but I liked the way it ended. I wasn't overly thrilled with the dancing robots but that's the only problem I had with it.

The problem wasn't the ending of BSG being bad, it was that almost all the BSG fans could have thought of a better one than the one they aired (BSG arrives in Ancient Greece - responsible for the technology and deities of that timeframe...fits the names of the characters too).

/I have complete DVD sets of all the series right up until season 4 because they came out after the ending. I might as well get rid of them now because I can't watch them knowing that it ends so stupidly. Great episodes like 33, Exodus Part 2, and All Along the Watchtower are good on their own to watch, but all the other storysodes don't do it for me anymore.

Actually he prefers the term artificial person.

I didn't outright object to the dancing robots, other than the fact that they STOPPED with the dancing robots. Even at the time, we already had autonomous vehicles, robotic weapons platforms, and the like that would have gotten home their point much better than the dancing robot.

It is not the end. It is not the beginning of the end. It is the end of the beginning.

In a thousand years, Gandahar was destroyed, and and all its people massacred. A thousand years ago, Gandahar will be saved, and what can't be avoided will be.

BSG dropping out of the sky like that to launch its Vipers was the high point of that series for me. I jumped off the couch to deliver a proper "fark yeah, you crazy bastard!" on that one.
