Everyone should try snorting battery acid off a transvestite hooker's wrinkly ballsack once.

So did the kid give back all the money he made from the show he publicly put down?

/the show's retarded
//but at least Sheen isn't a hypocrite about it

The news here is that Anger Management has a 90 episode season. How the hell?

I have to agree with Charlie.

Most of the troubles celebrities get into have to do with their associates. Their handlers, their suppliers, the sycophants that live off of the celebrity's fame.

It's all nice and fun until someone whispers the wrong thing in the celebrity's ear. A few days later, the star wakes up in the pokey or in rehab and wonders what the hell did he do wrong.

It's the Tyler Perry show method of filming... record 65-90 episodes in one marathon block of shooting, and the network then has 3-4 seasons of material to air whenever they damn well please without having to worry about, well, someone like Charlie Sheen snorting battery acid off a transvestite hooker's wrinkly ballsack and being unavailable for the next season.

Carl Reiner did something similar with The Dick Van Dyke show. When he sold the show to the network, he had already given the network 13 (?) complete scripts.

/the show was a second try for the idea so Reiner already had shot a pilot for the previous attempt

Yeah, but Reiner wrote those because he figured he would be acting in Head of the Family, and wanted to get the show off to a decent start. By the time Sheldon Leonard came in and corrected Reiner's mistaken belief that he was the leading man for the show, Reiner was just 13 scripts ahead for The Dick Van Dyke Show, which was filmed on a normal weekly basis.

The filming method I'm talking about is just 90 scripts and shows shat out as quickly as possible.

I saw this one a commercial on FX, I was stunned.
I like to imagine there is a parallel universe where Joss Wheadon got HALF of that for Firefly*.

*If Firefly isn't your thing, that's cool, just substitute your favorite 'killed too soon' TV show.

Lets get these out of the way.

1) Pot, Kettle.
2) When Charlie Sheen calls you screwed up, man you better get some introspection.

That said, I'm still willing to bet that the kid at his worst is still better adjusted then Charlie Sheen would ever be at his best.

/hates the show anyway.
//hates Charlie Sheen more.

He had this clause in his contract that if after the first handful of episodes an order for any additional episodes was placed, that number would put him at the magical 100 episode total needed for syndication.

I'm surprised FX fell for it.  The show is unwatchable.

Who are these people?

You can't be a good Christian if you watch TV. Except maybe the nature shows with cute fuzzy animals just waiting to be angels.

Sheen's quote from the article seems entirely reasonable and rational - what's the problem?

"He's a good kid and maybe he's just going through a phase but it's hard to comment on something if I'm not there," added Sheen, whose FX comedy Anger Management will return for the first of 90 more episodes on Jan. 17. "I don't think he's crazy, I just think he's a little maybe over-influenced in some other beliefs. I don't know but it seemed like he was doing all right; I like the apology his lawyers wrote for him -- that was pretty good."

Lol talking about over influenced, a lot of the commenter here were over influenced by what subby wrote and not what the actual written article states.

It's been hours since our last religion-bashing thread, and the Fark Atheist Brigade gets all twichy and depressed if they go too long without loudly reminding the world that they are still superior to theists in every way. The innacurate-but-trollerific headline is therefore necessary.

As an ignostic, I find both theists and atheists fun - both arguing over the answer to a question neither understands. I can be a bit smarmy when those threads go on, too, but again, if the point of this was to somehow bait people into arguing, how does that make the subby better than the folks he or she baits into arguing?

I still don't see where the headline was trying to start some religious debate or baiting anyone.

The kid is dumb, little, and a Jesus Freak. It's a statement of fact.

Hell, his supposed Jesusness is why he made the colossally dumb move of biting the hand that fed him and risked losing a cushy, high paying gig, before his handlers took a look at the money they stood to lose and reined him in.

So, where is the baiting of sensitive religious snowflakes there?
