Don't say that. He promised me I'd get to be Sec of State for his third term. I only got a free phone for his second so I really want that Sec of State job.

Seconding scariness. Forget scaring teatards with 12 years of 0bama; imagine that possibility for every future president, then imagine 20 years of, say, Nixon.
Or hell, look at how dirty congressmen tend to look after a few terms.

Thankfully, this has no chance of meeting the requirements for a constitutional amendment, and just scares teatards.

Congress can't repeal presidential term limits.  The only thing Congress can do is propose an amendment to the Constitution which must pass both houses with a 2/3rds vote.  THEN it goes to the states to get ratified and needs a 3/4ths vote.  So yeah, it's not happening but please keep wetting your pants WND.  It makes it easier to spot you loons in a crowd

1. Link to WND even though you yourself hate or mock the site
2. Attain lazy, easy greenlight due to Farkers' genetic need to ridicule it (this includes me)
3. Wipe hands on pants

Obama was president in 2003?

/Zero chance 3/4 of states will approve this nonsense even if it makes it through both houses.

Tinfoil hat:

Since Obama wasn't eligible for president because of where he was born, term limits do not apply.

He wasn't, but I do remember the rumor floating around about George W along with the rumor that he was going to suspend the elections. The nutjobs are on the left and the right, like it or not.

Those rumors/accusations were comparably scarce, and no one ever took them seriously. Obama conspiracy theories seem second only to porn in overall internet traffic.

The difference between libtard wingnuts and right wing ones is that we (liberals, or anyone else not insane) don't actually embrace and celebrate the crazy. 'We' do our best to distance ourselves from it. Now go look at the one-time GOP primary leaders, a Fox talk show, or turn on virtually any talk radio. They always gloat that liberal opinion shows lag or totally fail in terms of viewers/listeners. Ever wondered why that is when half of the country votes Democratic, and should theoretically have the same viewership? What is it about 'conservative' media that makes it so successful? You already know the answer.

None of this is to say that the left is free of idiots. I'm just trying to point out that we typically don't tolerate, nay, embrace them. There's a reason even Bobby Jindal told the GOP, referencing the possibility of future success, to "stop being the stupid party."

One of my comrades in the bread line was saying something similar just the other day but the Re-education Police hauled him off to the nearest FEMA camp before he had a chance to finish.

I remember back when Bubba was President, that HE was going to use Y2K to declare a state of emergency and cancel the election to keep himself in the Oval Office.

Did we ever get an amendment going about repealing that whole "natural born citizen" thing so Arnie can run for president? Hmm, maybe the birther movement put the kibosh on that idea.

You should see my FB newsfeed.  WND and Brietbart posts are a daily occurrence.  It's amusing to watch people post them and then try not to sound batshiat insane when they comment on their link...and they do a good job for the most part.  But once someone gets them on a rant, you see them in all their glorific nutballery.

All term limits at all levels of government should be repealed.

/Not a popular stance I know, but I see term limits as a restriction on freedom of choice in electing who we want to lead us.

um... actually Presidential term limits are only there because butthurt Republicans put them there because they kept getting their asses handed to them by FDR. It's also worth noting that that was the last time they had control of congress until 1994.

But the ACTUAL reason that this will never happen is because the Republicans control the House and there is no way they would want 0bama installed for another 4 years.

Is there anything more disappointing than the embarrassment one feels finding out a friend is a DERPer? I saw this story a week ago on FB. Although quickly countered by a knowledgeable friend, it really is impossible to respect the person that posted it. Yeah, the big scary black man is going to rule forevarz unless you shoot someone, morans.

It was slightly easier to believe that W might use a disaster to justify delaying elections after watching Giuliani use 9/11 to justify delaying NYC's mayoral election.

Assuming Clinton would ever have been a contender in the aftermath of Zombie Reagan and Bush Senior.
The whole line of presidential succession (going back to FDR) would be thrown off kilter in that alternate universe.

Alot of guys get to be president only because of a specific set of issues and timing.
With no Clinton era budget decisions you get no Bush era credit crunch and no window for Obama to enter the picture. We'd be looking at a President Kerry or maybe just a continuation of Bush II.

Who knows...

Would they be allowed to change positions after their term limits? Like after 6 terms in the house, can they run for Senate or president? Just wondering.
