Well, after they knocked out Arsenal I may as well cheer for them to take out everybody else, too.

Kinda like when Cal FC, a team of cobbled together castoffs with a rotating Sunday Adult Men's League roster, beat the Portland Timbers in the US Open Cup.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN

Yeah, first thing I thought of was the Timbers losing in the US Open Cup. Weird shiat happens in open events.

Aston Villa, owned by Randy Lerner. No, not shocked here. Not shocked at all.

2013-01-08 07:56:29 PM
i know the headline is a troll, but to be fair, aston villa is nowhere near the caliber of either nd or 'bama.

This explains the AV fan in my twitter feed having a meltdown today.

good one, subby!

Headline is way off. Villa is total shiat.

But yet, they still beat Liverpool.

2013-01-08 08:39:37 PM
I'd be stunned if Villa doesn't go down, instead of QPR.

2013-01-08 08:44:34 PM
wouldn't it be more like Appalachian State taking out Michigan?

2013-01-08 08:47:22 PM
Um... it's a 2 leg semifinal. They haven't won anything yet.

/sure, it's damn unlikely AVFC will comeback
//But it's still not over

2013-01-08 08:50:15 PM
No, it'd be more like Appalachian State beating the Cleveland Browns, which, although difficult, ain't nearly that impressive.

/And yes, that was a "Randy Lerner sucks at sports ownership" jab.

As a Sounders fan, that was a beautiful moment and long live in lore.

I don't even know what sport you're talking about.  Are there sticks involved?  Golf may be a sissy sport, but nobody gives you sh*t when you're holding a three-foot metal club.

The Browns of soccer. Is anyone surprised?

Robin Williams on Golf, 'nuff said.

I was thinking more like UMass beating Alabama for the national championship. Then I got the joke.

Aston Villa? Wasn't that the same guy who owned the Cleveland Browns?

Hey hey! I'm a Browns fan and getting offended at some of these comments. Sure we re practically hopeless, but that is no reason to compare us to Aston. That's low.

Oh Lord. Of COURSE Villa- which has recently come off a streak of conceding 17 unanswered goals- lost to Bradford.

Because we are a terrible, terrible soccer team. I picked these people. To root for. While Doug Ellis was still owner (Lerner came along a couple weeks after I committed).

At least the Browns aren't in danger of being relegated from the NFL...

/...because that's impossible.

They're having a rough go of things, but if the youths get traction watch out. Right now they're dealing with inexperience. I'm hoping they right the ship soon.

So will the minnows do the business at Villa Park or will Bradford go through?

and in other news, michael owen had to apologize after saying "bradford are on fire" on twitter.

If people can keep the faith then Lambert will get Villa playing well and keep them mid table.

Also as of today Bradford have won more games this season against Premier League teams than QPR
