Ok, this one made me laugh:

Madoffs Mets 2 hours ago
@Tony Romo: @DallasStars I would get the job done too if we only played 3 periods #HockeySux.

Both because it's true and because they play the same amount of time just divided up differently.

You'd think people cared about other NFL teams/sports or something with a BS article like this.

What's the difference between the Cowboys and the Stars?

The Stars will actually play in January.

Really quite inappropriate for the official Dallas Cowboys account to say something like that.

I know they're trying to connect and be cool, and totally rip off the LA Kings vibe.. but they failed miserably at it.

Let's not forget the original tweet was equally disrespectful to baseball as it was to hockey. I wonder how the Texas Rangers feel about that?

1999 seems SO FAR AWAY..........I'm not sure it happened anymore. Then some Buffalo fan chimes in 'No Goal', and I get all happy again. Shortened season will be intense. I'll watch hockey, and go if some kindly bajillionaire gives me tickets to his suite, like he has done before. Thank you Ross.

I doubt it even registered on their radar. For some reason I don't think Nolan keeps tabs on Twitter. He & JD have more important things to focus on, like...
Berkman's knee.
Lewis' & Feliz's return from injury/surgery.
Figuring out if Profar is going to break camp with the big club or start the year in Roundrock.
Continuing Yu's development & making him understand that he can get Ichiro out.
Finding a way to package Moreland & Olt in a trade that'll land them a true ace by the deadline.

...just to name a few.

Texas Rangers deal with PR issues like this in a more appropriate manner, respectful of all concerned.

And anyway, all they'd have to say is "when was the last time you played for a championship?"

Oh God just shut up already Dallas. I don't want to hear from you until training camps. Maybe the draft. Either way just close shop, real teams are still playing.

You've really got to admire an organization that can experience so little success yet have such an enormous ego that one of their employees would look down on two other, more successful, local franchises.

Cowboys should do the League and America a favor, fold up shop.

Pretty chump move on the Cowboys part. There's nothing wrong with throwing some jabs on Twitter, but A) you should be funny, and B) don't insult a local team in another sport - if for nothing else than the fact that you probably share fans, even if they have less than you.

2013-01-08 10:04:38 PM
At least the cowboys titles were legit and they didn't have to have the commissioner change the rules in the middle of the game

I think Tony Romo's fumbling for a snappy comeback.

Do you mean the cowboys?

Because winning 5 Superbowls does not = "so little success" to me personally.

/most certainly not a Cowboys fan

Yeah, that made no sense. Stars have one title, Rangers have zero. The Rangers make the playoffs, I suppose. The Stars don't, even in hockey, where over half the league makes the playoffs.

I left out the word "recent". The Rangers have won the AL twice in the last three years, and the Stars won a Cup, went to the Cup Finals another time and have been to the conference finals during the same period in which the Cowboys have won exactly 1 playoff game.

Let's not pretend the Stars' Cup win was recent, either.

Which is probably why I detailed some of their other accomplishments, like making it to the conference finals in 2008. Again, the Cowboys have ONE playoff win since 1996. They shouldn't be looking down their noses at anybody.

That much makes sense now.

I am not a believer in trumpeting anything that hasn't happened in the past 20 years. So The Cowboys are still within a window that I, personally, am okay with them talking about.

While I agree, I'd point out that dumb sh*t like this garners free publicity for all the teams and all you have to do is maybe apologize afterwards if the local hate continues. Meanwhile, you just generated thousands of tweets mentioning you and let's be real, the NHL is pretty irrelevant, especially in Dallas, whether they've been good or not.

I'm choosing to treat this as another example of the Cowboys being tone deaf, arrogant without cause and utterly stupid. That may be because I hate the Cowboys, but here we are.

Sometimes you make it very difficult to not make fun of the Vikings. In honor of the awesomeness of your punter and the lack of your team fielding a starting QB for the playoff game against the Packers, I will refrain from making any of the jokes currently running through my head.

I suppose that's fair. Though hopefully we'll have the thread about more of their utter stupidity in firing Rob Ryan (because it's his fault everyone on the defense was injured) rather than Jason Garrett.

First thing I thought when I saw dude got fired was "did they at least get rid of the O-Line coach? Of course not."

I wasn't alive for '82, so they have been bad for more of my life than they have been good. I also missed the 70's and 80's Packers, but from what I understand, they were atrocious.
