The real problem is 30-sword scabbards. We need to limit scabbard capacity to just 10 swords.

Whenever I see one of those TV sword sale shows I am justifiably certain that the kind of person who spends $100 on a cheap knockoff samurai sword is the same kind of person that will end up in jail because of said sword. I continue to remain smug in this belief.

No duh. If you spent $10,000 on a REAL samurai sword, the last thing you're going to do is risk damaging it by doing hacky-choppy out in the street.

So the reason we don't see hundreds of thousands of folks getting offed by the police as they threaten everyone around them with their cheap samurai swords is because...what, too many of 'em? :-P Don't get me wrong, this kind of flimsy cutlery is usually garish and tacky, but it's also used to decorate a room far more often than it becomes a tool in the rage-death of some idiot.

You were attempting to use the sword attack as an unsubtle argument against firearm registration.
Because, you know, she was attacked with a sword.

The most glaring problem with that argument is that she was shot.

That is because you no that a true samurai forges their own sword out of 440 steel in the back yard on a charcoal forge. Folding the steel over ten thousand times and creating a weapon capable of defeating Aku.

More contributing factors...

FTFA: " She had lots of friends that enjoyed her company. I know I did."

Anyone want to guess that the "stolen property" was the little Mrs.? Seems like a lot of anger directed at her.

Except that Tom Cruise's character is an american soldier captured by The Last Samurai, learns to love Home Tree and defend his adopted Sioux/Commanche tribe (depending on novel vs movie data).

Personally, I love The Last Samurai out of all the implementations of that story. The marketing made it look like Cruise is 'the last samurai' though.
