Years ago I got my dad a book of photography of the moon landings that were rarely if ever published. It is a great book full pages of just pictures on the moon.

If you haven't read it or watched the accompanying documentary (part 1 of 10 attached), I highly suggest Gene Kranz's Failure is not an Option. Simply an amazing story.

The ads killed it for me. Head for the apollo archive. Or your pile of Spacecraft Films DVD's.

Norton Sales in LA might still have some Saturn rocket parts for sale. For reals.

They have the Apollo 13 captions all messed up.
"The Lifeboat
This view of the Apollo 13 Lunar Module LM was photographed from the Command Module CM just after the LM had been jettisoned. The jettisoning occurred a few minutes after 11 a.m., April 17, 1970, just over an hour prior to splashdown of the CM in the South Pacific Ocean. (The astronauts are inside. This was referred to as their "lifeboat.") "

Uh, no, the astronauts are not inside the jettisoned LEM. At least not the ones that made it back.

Perhaps they meant the Earth Module, the EEM.

Great story, I didn't know there was a documentary that went with it. CSB: I bought his book used from Half.com for $3 and a signed copy showed up. :)
