If there's a bar, nipples have to be covered as well. As I understand it those are the rules for Fort Wayne and Indy as well.

I live in Indy and haven't been to a club in a year or so, but can't remember the last time i saw pasties. Some of 'em wear that weird litlte tape on the nipples.

That's what I thought it said. lol

The Classy Chassy FTW!

Didn't go there, but last time I was in Indianapolis I drove by and couldn't stop laughing at the name.

Crotchrocket Slim: gunga galunga: Crewmannumber6: I've been an advocate for him since Brick, but he seems to be reaching the saturation point lately.

He's being given the roles that would have otherwise gone to Shia LaBeouf. For that alone, he gets a lifetime free pass from me.

Did even Hollywood get sick of his douchebaggery? I mean the guy couldn't even BS about hooking up with Megan Fox without sounding like a Farker obviously lying about it.

That's my guess. He certianly owed the big surge in his career a few years back to Steven Spielberg who was convinced that The Beef was Hollywood's newest "It" kid, but then he burnt that bridge. Boy did he ever. Not that I'm defending Kingdom of the Crysal Skull (which is damn near impossible to do), but if you're the secondary lead of a Hollywood blockbuster, and you're doing the press tour, you damn well better plug the movie instead of saying shiat like (heavily paraphrased) "it's a bad movie. I blame the director. And Harrison Ford agrees with me". Even though Crystal Skull is undeniably a crap movie, that sort of shiat makes other directors reluctant to hire you.

Most of 'em actually use patterned tape they get at Joann Fabrics or something. Some use electrical tape. A couple use little round bandages.

Truth. Came here to say something to that effect, Star Lord is tough to cast but as long as it isn't TheBeef everything should work out. He'll be in a mask for most of the movie anyway.

Unless they cast Hugo Weaving, actors arent usually willing to put up with that.

In all fairness, everyone involved with The Avengers should have just said "fark Cap's mask". I know, I know, true to the comic books and everything, but next to everyone else, it looked even MORE ridiculous than it does when he's the sole hero.

The funny thing is I was thinking of entirely separate incidents where he burned his professional bridges in the press (dude has had more than his fair share of such incidents).

Did Evans really refuse to wear the mask? I figured they cut down on how much he wore it for the reasons you mentioned.

The guy is an all around dick and reveals himself as such in just about every interview he gives. I cited that particular incident because it was the biggest example of him biting the hand that fed him. Spielberg was the producer behind most of his big movies. But notice how in Lincoln, it was JGL who played Robert Todd Lincoln and not The Beef?

2013-01-08 04:41:34 PM
Hell yes.

2013-01-08 04:42:55 PM
JGL once said in an interview that he only did GI Joe because it was probably his only chance to be in a big summer movie.

2013-01-08 04:55:48 PM
I seem to recall the Beef saying something about Transformers 3 being "like a finger in the ass." While I agree with the statement, I can imagine why directors might not be all that likely to want to work with him.

But are those two guys really up for the same roles?

JGL comes across as an adult, even during those times I have a hard time seeing it (he'll always be the 3rd Rock kid to me). LaBoeuf never seems to come across as more than a douchebag college student.

It wasnt just Evans though, Hemsworth wore the ICONIC helmet for like the first 5 minutes of Thor, RDJ had the faceplate open every time he wasnt fighting, granted they changed Hawkeyes costume pretty radically, because that would have been TOO silly, but yeah, look at the non marvel studios comic book movies lately. Spiderman cant keep his damn mask on, in the Rami trilogy or the new one, and again, the comic book costume would look pretty silly IRL, but wolverine hasnt worn a mask once in any of the 4 movies he was in.

Willing to bet Star Lord wont be wearing a mask for a significant portion of the movie, but im ok with that because im just happy to be getting a Guardians of the Galaxy movie in the first place, 5 years ago i would have bet a million dollars that theres no way a GoG movie would ever get made.

Starlord's Mask isn't even part of his iconic design. That's strictly from Annihilation on, and even then he didn't wear it that much. Now if they try to do Nova without the helmet, then they farked up.

Tyrone Slothrop: mechgreg: Ugh Sin City 2? Sin City 1 was pretty terrible. Plus if one of your main characters is going to be a stripper, she shouldn't be wearing more clothes than any other character in the movie.

Robert Rodriguez appears to be under the impression that strippers don't take off their clothes.

Or hookers. Only parole officers get naked.

Robert Rodriquez appears to be under the impression that a somewhat scantilly clad Jessica Alba gyrating aggressively would bring in more boner-bucks than 'naked nameless whore 24'.

He seems to have been correct.

No love for Mysterious Skin? As much as you can "love" that movie. Also, I liked Gordon-Levitt's smaller role in Inception too.

You know who wore a mask in a movie and was goddamned awesome? Darth Vader. He even emoted through that motherfarker. I've watched every movie James earl Jones was in (Forget the irony I'm ignoring Prowse, though I've seen all his work too)

If major actors can be voice actors in cartoon movies, they can wear a goddamn mask when the script calls for it, and do it with a smile.

It really does annoy me that comic book movies use every trick possible to keep their characters in civilian clothes for as long as possible.

I read somewhere (hell, maybe it was here on Fark) that it wasn't so much about the actors not wanting to wear masks, but the producers being afraid that the audience couldn't connect with the character if they couldn't see the character's face.

Is that not the case?

No, I'm merely stating what's been reported in regards to Sin City. Alba stated she wouldn't do nudity. I provided a link where she stated she wouldn't do nudity in a very passive aggressive way. If that's pissing you off, ease back from the internet. :)

pissed off? hardly. that just isnt what the person I was replying to said (sorry if its you). They said she doesnt do nudity...and she might not now, but she has before, is all I'm saying.

I think he's wasted on Sin City 2. Besides, now we're going to have the obvious "Younger Bruce Willis" typecasting since he did Loopers. Does he really want to step into another role that is so closely tied to Willis?

Jeez. He might as well start banging Demi Moore, too.

C(possibly not true)SB that I heard from a co-worker: Daniel Day Lewis actually requested that JGL be considered for the role, as he considers JGL the finest actor of his generation. JGL did not actually meet the real DDL until filming had wrapped, as Lewis stayed in character from the moment they first met until they were done shooting the movie.

Carla Gugino took off her clothes even though she wasn't the stripper character, and those few seconds were worth the price of admission alone. Seeing Jessica Alba's jubblies amidst her vapid acting would somehow be a letdown. Plus, she was supposed to be the innocent kid that Bruce Willis' character kept watch over all those years, not to mention Rourke keeping her safe by fending off the low-lifes. Alba's entire character was a stripper clad in a mantle of "naughty innocence," so nudity was out of the question.

That and I'm sure Alba has a no-nudes clause in any film contract she signs. If we ever do see it, there's going to be a modest Playboy spread with a metric shiat-ton of airbrushing.

Still not sold on the guy as an actor. We have been getting a steady dose of him in leading roles since Inception, but to this point, he has been underwhelming.

It was bad enough Jessica Alba wouldn't show some boobie in the movie, but couldn't they have found SOME way to get her and Alexis Bledl making out ?
